“Friendliness and clean and location”

“Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. “I felt comfortable soon has i walked in staff where lovely, the only thing was they had a power cut for 12 hours and it was pitch black in the bedroom i know its not there fault but i have a walking disability which i try to keep to my self. But other than that i have had a fantastic stay.”

“Last minute booking for us (having messed up booking a different place). Absolute bargain and a great place to stay. Parking was easy, just outside, and free too. We had a disabled badge, but were offered a parking disc when we arrived. Room was lovely, facing the street, but that wasnt a problem as it was quiet in the main. “Not clean Pet hotel Not suitable for anyone with animal allergies When we arrived at the hotel at 11:30pm we then found out that the room was a room used for owners with pets We were not offered a room pet free. As it was so late and been driving for over 6hrs we looked at the room - but the room had a really strong cleaning product smell - probably trying to mask the animal smells, and looking closely on the floor you could see animal hair. “Had a brilliant time at Rockliffe Hall. The spa was really relaxing and well worth it. The spa treatment itself was spot on, and the views around the place are lovely. The Staff were great: polite, helpful, and made everything easy. They left a few things out for our birthday celebration, which made the day feel special. Tip: on your last morning, try to squeeze in one last 1/2 hour the spa to set you up for the day.”
