Calamansack Waterings is just moments from Frenchman’s Creek, immortalised by Daphne du Maurier in her much-loved novel of the same name. The Helford River is one of Cornwall’s most treasured and protected waterways, and from this exceptional home, it’s easy to understand why.

The property has been thoughtfully designed to welcome guests of all ages and abilities. A ground-floor ensuite bedroom with a single bed and truckle beneath is ideal for guests with mobility needs, ensuring the whole group can enjoy a comfortable holiday together.

Spill out from the living room onto the vast, slate patio, situated to the west of the house. Huge concrete table and garden chairs for relaxed suppers in the sun. Electric hot tub and Yoga Studio. Pad along the lawn to the Harvia electric sauna and cool off with a dip in the river.

Large L-shaped, deep, modular sofa, two armchairs, two stools, coffee table and sideboards. Log burner and Smart TV. A really cosy space for eves around the fire playing board games.

Garden

Three and a half acres of beautifully landscaped coastal garden, with large lawns, walled garden, Harvia electric sauna, hot tub, yoga studio, outside dining area, shingle beach and the most incredible, tranquil water frontage.

Parking

For several vehicles on the hard standing driveway. Please note that the driveway from the main road is approximately half a mile long and whilst tarmacked, can be a little uneven in places, for low slung cars. Outdoor tap for dog washing. Boiler room housing boiler, solar controls and some household items such as the vacuum cleaner.

Boats, Kayaks and Paddleboards

Calamansack Waterings has a private slipway providing access to Calamansack Pool via the foreshore. Around high water (approximately two hours before and two hours after), larger boats can be launched directly from the beach. Smaller craft can be launched over a wider range of tidal conditions, depending on the state of the tide. The private slipway is accessed via the garden and grass slope.

For larger boats and road trailers up to 20 feet, an adjoining property, also owned by the family, provides an alternative launch facility. This features a gravel access track leading to a straight concrete slipway, giving access to the same foreshore. By prior arrangement, guests are welcome to use this slipway for launching and recovering their boats. It is particularly well suited to wet conditions, and we recommend that any boat requiring a road-trailer launch uses this access.

We kindly ask that all gates are closed after use and that guests observe the 6-knot speed limit within the Helford River. Please note that waterskiing is only permitted outside the speed-restricted area, to the east of the Helford River moorings. It is well worth the trip, as early mornings often provide exceptional conditions, with beautifully calm, glass-flat water.

The upper reaches of the Helford are also well worth exploring, offering some wonderful scenery and sheltered creeks. Before setting out, please ensure you are familiar with the local charts, tidal conditions and any navigational hazards.

Dogs: up to 2 well behaved dogs accepted @ £30 per week with the expressed permission of the owner. No dogs under 1 year of age. Dogs are to stay in the kitchen/diner/boot room and garden/beach only. If this will not work for your dog, then please make alternative arrangements for them.

EV bikes: must not be stored inside the house, or any of the outbuildings due to the fire risk from the batteries.
