River House at Meadow Landing - Awesome Riverfront Cabin på New River i Todd

Riverhouse at Meadow Landing är ett 3 sovrum, 2 badrum och 2 halv badkar som ligger på South Fork of the New River i Todd. Det är mycket bekvämt för Boone och West Jefferson (20-minuters bilresa) och har enkel åtkomst året runt. Platsen är på den östra sidan av High Country (10 minuter från Blue Ridge Parkway) så från Charlotte och Raleigh och pekar öster behöver du inte slåss mot stadstrafiken för att komma hit när du kommer till toppen av berget.

Så här är vad du hittar när du går in i dörren: foajén öppnar till det stora öppna köket som är fullt utrustat och har massor av diskutrymme och ätbar i två stolar. Du har en öppen planlösning till vardagsrummet med två utdragbara soffor, vilstol och extra sittplatser. Vardagsrummet har en platt-TV med satellitkanaler monterad ovanför eldstaden och en stor fönsterbank med utsikt över floden och bergen bortom. Det finns också en matplats med bord och sittplatser för sex. Utanför vardagsrummet finns ett halvt badrum / tvättstuga kombinationsruta. Du har också ett sovrum (king size-säng) och ett andra sovrum (full size-säng) som delar ett badrum som ligger mellan dem.

Trappor från vardagsrummet tar dig till den lägre nivån där du hittar ett andra, mindre kök, sittgrupp med kortbord och futon, fullt badrum, ett andra halvbad och ett stort stort sovrum (1 full säng och två enkelsängar bäddar).

Fastigheten har DSL Wi-Fi-internet så att du kan surfa eller ta tag i dina e-postmeddelanden och en samling brädspel som ligger i det andra sovrummet på övervåningen och nedre våningen i regniga dagar eller sent på kvällarna. En andra TV med DVD-spelare finns också i nedre våningen sittgrupp.

Nu, för utsidan. Det finns en liten täckt veranda vid huvudentrén och från flodsidan av stugan har du två däck. Övre däck är stort och öppet med en gasgrill. Det andra däcket under, tillgängligt med steg eller från lägre nivå, är täckt. Massor av gräsmatta - nästan en tunnland och det är nästan helt platt! Perfekt för en matlagning och kasta runt en fotboll!

Cool Area Information:
* 10 minuter från Blue Ridge Parkway.
* 20 minuter från Boone och Appalachian State University. Det finns alltid någon händelse i Boone som har en växande samling riktigt bra oberoende (och ekologiska) restauranger och massor av olika kulturevenemang på ASU.

Tubing Trip

We truly like the spacious of the house, but the oven didn't work and was very inconvenient this time. We emailed the rental company but never heard back. The full-size beds really need to be updated to queen size beds. This will be our last year staying in this house due to the beds, which is very sad because we like the area and the lay out of the house.

Tubing Trip

We enjoyed our weekend tubing trip, and the cabin was very nice. The house was very clean and provided a lot of room for our family with a beautiful view by the River. The only thing I would change is upgrading the full size beds to queen. A little hard for two adults to sleep on a full size bed. Very close quarters. LOL

Family Vacation success! Nice Property

Overall this suited our purpose. We all had a great time. My husband and I took our adult children, young grandchildren and both our mothers. Everyone had a great time. There were a couple minor disappointments/discourages…which would have possibly kept me looking for another property if I had known…mostly sleeping arrangements. I knew we would be right and that someone would be sleeping on a pullout or air mattress which was fine. But the descriptions are (were) deceiving. It was not clear the upstairs bedrooms shared a bath. That has been fixed if you read the full description…go by that…it is the most accurate. Only difference is the downstairs card table is not downstairs (which is better because the dining only sits 6 so we used the card table for extra seating). There are 4 folding chairs in the garage…still not enough seats for a house that sleeps 12 to sit together but we made it work. If you’re there for the Wi-Fi …don’t go. It absolutely is not strong enough to even check your email. A couple of us needed to work o e day and were unable. Also at the advice of another guest we took a Roku stick but couldn’t use it due to the Wi-Fi signal being too weak. We played a lot of card games (though they have plenty we took our own). Also put together a couple puzzles they supplied. Went to Boone a couple times, grandfather mountain, blowing rock, Lincoln falls, and Tweetsie Christmas: all of which weee easy sei Ed and the kids (big & little) loved! If you’re bringing animals (we did not) consider this …One of the neighbors, I believe the red house across the street, has 1 or 2 little hippy dogs that keep getting in the road and crossing over to the yard and doing their business! One of the kids actually stepped in it at one point! I did complain to the property manager about this but I’m not what or if they did anything or if they even can. Though NC does have a leash law. I also let them know about the wifi. They said they’d send someone out that night but no one ever came. All in all we had a great time and it’s a very nice property in a great and beautiful location. I’m would not go back with that many people as it was a little crowded. And the pull-outs are extremely uncomfortable. But if you have 8 or less people and don’t need Wi-Fi …I’d say go for it. Totally worth it! Also we had a couple deer in the back yard one morning! …until The yippie dog barked them away 🙄

Thanksgiving with family

We needed a pet friendly cabin roomy enough for a family of 10 and this was perfect. Right on the river, close enough to Boone and West Jefferson to do any shopping necessary. Cooked a great Thanksgiving meal and even went to Frosty’s Choose and Cut Tree farm to bring home our Christmas tree. It was a wonderful week!

Great location!

This was a wonderful property on the river. Easy drive to Boone and West Jefferson. Tubing/kayaking from Todd was perfect. As other mentioned, the mattresses were HARD and could use mattress toppers. All the linens and towels need to be updated. The furnishings were hodge-podge as well. If those things were to be taken care of, it would truly be a top notch rental!! We enjoyed our stay regardless of the poor sleep.

perfect getaway

spent Easter weekend in the mountains with a group of close friends and this cabin was perfect for our getaway!! Convenient to Boone, great views, and loved relaxing on the deck.

Peace and Beauty

Pros: - Beautiful Views - Close to Boone - Lots of room in the cabin - Snow was amazing -Kitchen/home had everything we needed including extra blankets -Everything was clean Cons: - The beds are rock hard and desperately need foam toppers. We slept horrible (and we are only in our 30’s!).. This would be the only reason we wouldn’t come back if this wasn’t updated. Other: When they say you need 4 wheel drive in the winter they mean it. Almost didn’t get out of the driveway with our Honda Odyssey.

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

The cabin was clean. It's location is very convenient to Boone and the roads were very easy to drive on. It has nice view of the creek out the back. The downstairs quarters were perfect for our adult sons. There was lots of room to have family over for a meal. We enjoyed our weekend in the cabin.

Incredible Views

We absolutely loved our stay at the property. Plenty of views of the river and the valley. The upstairs porch was our favorite place to be! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the sheets in the small bedroom upstairs were not comfortable at all. Definitely worth the stay, but I'd recommend bringing an extra set of your own sheets if you are a picky sleeper like myself. Great times in the valley! Thank you for a great getaway with friends.

Beautiful Home & Location

This Home & Area is absolutely beautiful. Right on the New River so you're able to enjoy a relaxing 2hr tube ride down from the Todd park, best part is you end up right back at your house! The home is spacious, clean and stocked with everything you need & more. The one thing I wish it had was better river access. Other than that it was perfect!

Lovely getaway

This place is a great size and right on the river. The yard is open and spacious, which was great for our dogs. The place says it can sleep 12 but in addition to the multiple beds, there are two pull out couches, a futon , and a window seat that is six feet long. There are two kitchens that are mostly functioning. The downstairs one had the oven switched off but it was no issue for us. The only two "downsides" are the internet/ TV. It's in the mountains high speed internet isn't super available, but I suggest bringing movies and a chromecast or laptop that you can stream to the TV. The other issue was the river access. The neighbors have a lovely river side that is easy to access. The access for our house was a steep staircase that could use some attention. Overall we loved staying here and plan on coming back in the future!

Great house for a larger group

The house layout and size was great for the two family’s we had staying. Not to mention being right on the river is hard to beat. After the sun went down the lightening bugs were the most we have ever seen! The house was in good condition some of the furniture was old and with only one king and the rest of the beds being doubles or twins it made it a little more difficult, but we made due. There were definitely some things that could be fixed or updated, but nothing that made the trip any less enjoyable as most of our time was spent outside. Overall we had a great trip and would come back again!

Clean, great location

If you have small kids, this cabin is a perfect location on the railroad grade road to do bike trips in either direction. Also good to do a float trip from the public launch and end at the cabin. Cabin was clean with good space for kids to play downstairs, on the deck, in the yard, or ride bikes on the gravel road out front. Only complaint would be beds could be improved.
