Blue sands is a perfect hotel to relax and enjoy the sea and beaches of Folegandros. The restaurant serves good quality food with superb views. All of the staff are excellent and very warm and friendly. We enjoyed the service in the evening from Vasiliki, she offered excellent service and had a fantastic warm personality which made each of the 3 evenings we ate there all the more perfect.

Our stay here was beautiful and fulfilling. Our room and view of the aqua bluewater beach below was comfortable and stylish with an awesome patio. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly and the setting more idyllic. Blue Sands is a very special property. Folegandros was the perfect island to relax and not overdo activities. There is plenty to do (water taxis & boat rides to beaches & other parts of the island) and the hotel has a driver on call who can easily take you to Chora, the main town, only about 15 min away. Chora is definitely worth visiting (we went multiple times) for Folegandros history, dining, shopping and yummy gelato. However, we loved the setting and the hotel so much, we found ourselves wanting to stay on the property relaxing on our patio, at the beach below or at the hotel dining patio. Blue Sands offers a good breakfast with the room and dining and drinks during the rest of the day. We loved our after dinner negronis made by friendly George, the bartender. I would defintely stay her again especially after a stay at a busier island (we were in Santorini prior) as this is a welcome contrast with it's gorgeous setting and gentle breezes. The only concern might be for those with accessibilty issues as the stairs can be uneven and a bit slippery and the short walk to the beach below is also steep. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in. Rooms were private and peaceful with gorgeous views of the serene, swimmable bay that was just outside. Lovely staff and lovely places to walk to. Highly recommend!

A beautiful location and great views of the hills and the sea. Lovely suite, very clean and great design throughout the hotel. The restaurant menu was a bit limited, international and expensive when compared to other local places. However, the breakfast was superb.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location on the beach. The local town is an hour hike over rocky terrain - enjoyable if you have the fitness level and the weather is good. BUT if you do not want to do the hike, there is very little public transport and the hotel charge 17 EUR each way! The journey takes 5 minutes in a car. The hotel should really have a free shuttle service running at regular intervals. 17 EUR feels like a ridiculous price for the journey and they charge it per room even if the journey is shared.

Blue Sands Resort is THE place to stay on Folegrandos! The location was perfect for us as it is situated on a beautiful beach, away from the hustle and bustle of Chora (the main town) but still close enough (45 minute walk, 5 minute drive) to the center of town. This makes the experience of staying there calming and serene while also offering easy access to the amenities of the town. There are a few restaurants around the hotel as well as at the hotel so you have everything you need. An incredible breakfast spread is provided every morning on the beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean - sublime! The staff are very professional and friendly and will provide you everything you need. The rooms are immaculately clean. Lastly, the free shuttle service to and from the port helped us arrive and depart without stress. 10/10 would stay here again!

I stayed in a large group, so I was able to see numerous room and hear different prospective on this hotel. This hotel is located at an absolutely amazing location. It overlooks a cove with a sand beach and a short walk from a very private (clothing optional) sand beach. The rooms vary, I had an "upgraded" room, it was smaller and has less amenities than a cheaper "standard" room. The rooms are about 14 sq meters (150 square feet). And the bathroom is about 1 sq meter with a tiny shower. There is no wifi, the staff initially made excuses based upon the weather, but after 3 beautiful days they finally admitted the hotel always has very poor internet. Other hotels in the area has usable wifi. It is likely a simple hardware issue. The hostess I found to be very rude, others in the party also found her to be very rude. However, she went out of her way to be kind to others. I would explore other hotels before booking this one, there are some unbelievable options to choice from a short drive away.

THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE NAMED: SEWAGE SANDS Our two days at the Blue Sands Hotel were a total mess. The room smelled awful, and the staff treated us terribly. Do not stay here until they learn how to run a hotel and treat people with respect. Day One: The Awful Smell and The Rude Manager Our trip started with a ruined, sleepless night because of a terrible smell of human waste in our room from a broken pipe at the hotel. When the front desk opened at 9AM we spoke with the manager Mirela. Together we went to smell our room and she agreed it was bad, saying, "I’ve never smelled a room like this before, this is bad." They moved us to a new room, but that was the least they could do. A simple room change is not enough for such a horrible start to our vacation. They didn't even say sorry or offer our money back. When we asked for a refund, Mirela was very rude and laughed at us, saying she had "done more than enough." She acted like she didn't care at all about our terrible night. Day Two: Everything Broke The new room was just as bad. It had many problems: • The shower had no water pressure and no hot water. • The fridge leaked water all over the floor. • The air conditioner poured water down the wall, making a big puddle that soaked our luggage. To top it all off, we were supposed to check out at noon. But starting at 11:00 AM, staff kept banging on our door and calling us to make us leave quickly.
