"This "4 star" hotel might have been a four star hotel 10-15 years, but far from it right now... The room we got (no 12) was in a pretty poor condition. Paint falling off the walls, electricity not working correctly, no iron in the room, staff mildly interested in service, along with a number of other small details too many to mention all here. I would recommend another hotel for this kind of money. "

"We had a warm welcome by the young lady in the reception, but was assigned a room in the basement where we had to go through the laundry machines and a lot of stuff in the hallway. The room was placed so that everyone that walked by could see in and we did not feel safe to leave things in our fridge outside since anyone could walk in. There were bugs and mosquitoes in the room and the water in the shower flooded the bathroom. We asked if it was possible to get another room, but this was not possible on the first night. The next afternoon we got to switch to a room on the first floor that was facing the pool. This room was much better, but yet the kitchen sink was blocked so the water could not go out. There was a huge difference in the service mindset between the two woman manning the reception. The hotel is located next to the ocean, but unfortunately the hotel villas block the view from both the pool and the restaurant. Also the fence facing the ocean has collapsed and looks quite rough. In conclusion this hotel does not feel like a four star establishment and has seen better days."

"We stayed only one night at Hotel French Coco, but it was our best night on the island. When we arrived we immediately got a beautiful drink and a warm welcome. The place has a sense of peace created by the lush garden, wooden structures and friendly staff. We loved our suite with a lovely shower facing a small private garden and a nice terrace with a view over the garden. We had dinner at the hotel and the food and wine was amazing."
