Idyllic Chalet
Karl is an excellent host, The fire was burning and the chalet was warm and welcoming when we arrived. We really enjoyed the home made shortbread and jam. Clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a home away from home. The location is brilliant, perfect for exploring the area, while waking up to views of Loch Eil to the front, and Ben Nevis peeping through to the back. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Schönes Holzhaus
Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in dem schönen Holzhaus. Dieses lässt kaum Wünsche offen und Karl ist ein sehr angenehmer Gastgeber! Sehr herzlicher Empfang beim Check in und kleine Wünsche wurden schnell und unproblematisch erfüllt! Sehr gut!

Dream cabin in a beautiful location
We absolutely adored our stay, it's a truly beautiful cabin with everything you need on hand. It's all about the cozy feel indoors and is deceptively spacious. You cannot dispute the views, even the weather was behaving! We can't wait to book again and the only thing we'd do differently is to stay longer. Thank you Karl for being a great host.

Chalet dripping with Scottish charm

Highly Recommend this Highland Dream
My husband and I had a wonderful time. It was our first trip to Scotland. After being in several cities this Chalet was a relaxing place. The host is very knowledgeable and keeps the place in great shape, clean with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. If you are looking for a place to relax and get away from the busy tourist attractions this Chalet is the perfect location. It is a fantastic hub for day trips to Mallaig and Glencoe.

Comfortable and peaceful
This was a great spot for two couples who are interested in a base for exploring the hills and lochs around Fort William that is off the usual tourist path. We especially liked grilling our own dinners on the outdoor grill.

Home Away From Home
We had a great time staying at the chalet. It was clean, cozy, and supplied with many kitchen items that we found handy for meal prep. There was also a washing machine which was great for us. The location is far enough away from the crowds so you can feel relaxed and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature around you. Yet, you’re about 30 minutes from Fort William so it’s super convenient for day trips and to get supplies. Karl was super easy to work with he explained how to use the various items around the cabin. We can’t express more how much we enjoyed our stay here. It was fantastic and our favorite home away from home on our journeys through Scotland.

Schönes Blockhaus in ruhiger Lage
Sehr schöne Unterkunft abseits der Hauptstraße. Betten sind top. Die Ausstattung ist gut. Alles was man so braucht. Karl war gut erreichbar und immer nett. Senr nette Nachbarin mit lockerer Marmelade. Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt... Danke Karl

Rare et convivial
Nous avons passé de très bons moments entre amis dans ce châlet. Les équipements et la décoration dans cet hébergement tout en bois sont en harmonie. La vue de la terrasse est splendide, le calme et la nature sont au rendez-vous. Si je devais revenir à Fort William je reprendrai cet hébergement. Le propriétaire a été très accueillant et reste disponible si besoin (il habite tout près du chalet)

Schönes Haus in wunderbarer Umgebung
In sehr schöner Landschaft steht das Holzhaus mit tollem Blick. Im Haus ist alles vorhanden. Insbesondere die Küche ist toll ausgestattet. Auch wenn auf dem weitläufigen Gelände weitere Häuser sind hat man genug Privatsphäre. Insbesondere der Vermieter ist extrem nett und hilfsbereit.

Cabin stay
Great place to get away from city life. Isolated from everyone. With great views of loch and railway line. Plenty of space to not be on top of each other in family if you want some me time. Quiet.

The perfect hideaway
Chalet Rus is an amazing place to stay. The setting is beautiful, the chalet has everything you could need and the host is really friendly and helpful. A perfect place to just relax on the veranda with a glass of wine and a book whilst admiring the views.

Beautiful cabin stay
Karl was a great host. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and our family loved it. There was a great tree swing for the kids and lovely views out to the Loch. It’s only around 30 or so mins to Fort William. We would love to come back!

Fabulous lodge overlooking loch and mountains
The surroundings and views are magnificent and certainly live up to the description. The lodge is very conveniently situated, being about 30 minutes drive from Fort William and Ben Nevis and about an hour from Mallaig. It is well appointed and very cosy with a great log burner for the cool evenings. The wraparound deck is great for catching the sun and views from all angles. We were particularly impressed with the covid measures in place and overall cleanliness, making us feel very safe. Many thanks to our host Karl for making us welcome and looking after us. Would highly recommend this property.

Lovely stay
The place looks just like the pictures. It is a quiet location with beautiful views. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, enough for 6 adults. There was also plenty of wood for the log burner.

Einfach traumhaft!
Der perfekte Ort, um dem Alltagsstress zu entfliehen. Natur pur soweit das Auge reicht, unmittelbar in den Highlands, mit einem wunderschönen Blick zum See. Das Chalet lässt keine Wünsche offen - tolle Ausstattung, bequeme Betten und ein Holzoffen, der für Gemütlichkeit sorgt. Karl ist sehr freundlich, absolut hilfsbereit und hat keine Mühe gescheut unseren Aufenthalt so komfortabel wie möglich zu gestalten. Er hat sogar einen Kinderhochstuhl und ein Reisebett für die zweijährige Tochter unserer Freunde organisiert. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

We had the best time My husband and I with our 2 kids, 10 & 6 plus our friend with her 10 year old, visited for the fort William mountain bike championships. The cabin was the ultimate welcome home after being rained on all day. Beautiful views, amazing surroundings, deer/stags, woodpeckers, herons, buzzards and sheep were our natural neighbours and the lodge was so fantastically equipped that we literally couldn't have asked for more. Karl was on hand for any and all requests and made us feel so incredibly welcome that we will certainly be back for more

Great Property!
We really enjoyed our stay. The chalet was a bit difficult to find. Just keep going straight on the road specified in the directions until you see the chalet (as pictured in the documentation) on your right. It is well worth finding! The wood work and furniture is amazing. The beds were comfortable, even the extra mattress for the 5th and 6th persons was nice. The real wood burning stove was great. Karl was fantastic and provided the wood for the fire and started it the first day. We wish we had more time to spend there.
