The Grand Sambam

The Domaine de Fourdrain is an 11-hectare walled estate featuring a magnificent château, charming outbuildings, two ponds, a French garden, a tennis court, a playground, and a vegetable garden.

In these outbuildings, which exude the French charm of yesteryear, we have converted two accommodations: the Sambam and the Nibam. Each has its own terrace and private above-ground pool during the season.

Le Grand Sambam has 8 large twin-bed rooms, each with its own private bathroom. There are also 2 triple rooms that share a bathroom. Office and Game Room Le Sambam has a very cozy living room with an open fireplace and a welcoming dining room that can seat up to 50 people around its large table. The French doors in the living room and dining room open onto a lovely, sunny terrace.

If you’d like to host a large gathering, you can rent the “Maisonnette”—a unique cabin, simple yet dreamy, for 4 people—or “l’Extension,” a studio with 10 beds.

Le Nibam has 6 bedrooms, each with 2 beds, 2 bathrooms, and 5 toilets. On the first floor, there’s a comfortable living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, and a dining room. The house opens onto a very large, sunny terrace.

L'Ichibam is a light-filled house with 5 bedrooms—3 of which have private bathrooms—an open-concept living area, and a shared bathroom. It is separate from the park yet close to the castle grounds. Large families or groups can rent the two neighboring cottages (the Presbytère de Fourdrain and Maison Caille). Each offers privacy, yet everyone can come together to celebrate.

If you’d like, a home cook can come and prepare delicious meals (hearty soups, slow-cooked dishes, fresh salads, chocolate mousses, and more).

These vacation homes, little hidden paradises surrounded by nature, are the perfect place for anyone looking to recharge and enjoy a moment of pure bliss as a couple, with family, or with friends, far from the rest of the world.
In the summer, each house has its own above-ground pool.

Ideal for those who enjoy clay pigeon shooting or hunting, as Fourdrain is the closest village to the Saint Lambert Clay Pigeon Shooting Club, Domaine du Clos Saint Lambert.
There, you can hunt ducks, partridges, pheasants, and wild boars.

There are also the markets in Laon: Two markets are held in Laon:
on Thursday mornings at Place Victor Hugo (Vaux neighborhood)
on Saturday afternoons at Place du 8 Mai 1945 (Champagne neighborhood).
The local produce market, held every third Friday of the month in the cloister of Saint Martin Abbey.
