Traditionell Lakefront Cabin ligger på vackra George Pond

Denna traditionella lakefront stuga ligger på George's Pond har allt du kan önska för en lugn, fredlig Maine semester. Byggd 1912, har sin rustika atmosfär alla moderna bekvämligheter utan att offra erfarenheten. Somna som lyssnar på loonsna sjunger och vaknar till soluppgången och tittar på örnar och fiskgjorda matar på sjön. Denna stuga ligger inbäddat bland höga tallar som tar dig andan. George's Pond är en 380 hektar storfjädermatad sjö omgiven av glimtar av bergen i Acadia National Park. Denna stuga sover 6-8 (drottning master säng, 4 enkelsängar i loften och en dubbelsäng på den sovande verandan). Protokoll till Schoodic Mountain och Schoodic Beach (del av Acadia National Park) för vandring och simning eller picknick på Jordanens Pond. Schoodic toppmötet är platt med 360 graders hisnande utsikt över Frenchman Bay och Mount Desert Island. Downeast Sunrise Trail är en ombyggd järnväg med miles av spår för cykling, vandring, ATV eller promenader (se hemsidan för mer information) bara 3 minuter från stugan. Kabinen ligger bara 30-40 minuter till Acadia National Park och Bar Harbor. Där kan du vandra, mountainbike, handla ösbutikerna, äta i Bar Harbor restauranger, gå valskådning eller ta en läcker glasskaka. Du kan också spela golf på den berömda Kebo Valley kursen. Välj blåbär på väg hem och gör en skomakare eller koppla av på kajen. Vi erbjuder kajaker och livvästar. Det finns flera cykel-, kajak- och båtuthyrning tillgängliga. Semester väntar!

*** Georges Pond har upplevt en algblomning under de senaste åren. Vi kan inte kontrollera Moder Natur tyvärr men vänligen veta att medan sjön kanske inte är bra för simning, är det alltid vackert och avkopplande.***

Last Minute Maine Trip

This is a traditional Maine "camp", so don't expect too much. The property was clean but small. The bathroom is very small, and if there were more than the four of us it wouldn't have been enough. But it is manageable for a week or two. The kitchen is just barely enough to cook basic meals. The kitchen has all of the basic cookware and dishes you will need. Thankfully there is a gas grill on the deck that can also be used to cook meals, and it has the added advantage of overlooking the pond. You'll want to spend most of your time here outside. We also used the gas fire pit almost every evening as the temperatures were quite cool while we were there. The pond is great for swimming, kayaking, or boating. The location is also near Acadia National Park and other outdoor activities. If you are looking for a traditional Maine vacation "upta camp" then this is a great place.

Peace-filled getaway

George’s pond cabin was a lovely little getaway. The cabin is cozy and clean and perfectly placed on George’s pond. Kids and family enjoyed the kayaks, fishing (sunnies, pumpkinseeds and small-mouth bass abound!). Short distance from everything you need and late August has THE perfect weather. Would recommend for groups who are staying less than a week (not many places to put clothes/belongings, and no washer/dryer to help keep belongings to a minimum).

Amazing!!!

Our family of 6 (ages 82-11) absolutely LOVED our stay here. It is a beautiful cabin in a fantastic location. It’s small and rustic which was perfect for us. The kitchen was super well stocked. The stairs up to the lofts are steep but no trouble for our kids. The sleeping porch was a dream. Communication with the host was phenomenal - we had a few needs during our stay and she answered immediately.

We had a wonderful week at George's Pond. The view from the cabin is gorgeous. The cabin is close to Ellsworth and Acadia but far enough away from the crowds for peace and quiet. We would stay there again.

Location!

Peaceful retreat

The cabin is beautiful nestled amongst the pine trees overlooking the lake. Loved hearing the loons in the distance. We weren't informed that there was no television, so a little disappointed because it's football season, but there were lots of games to keep us occupied as we were there during hurricane Lee. Our host was concerned for our safety and requested us to leave on Saturday for the night, and we did so. However, our reimbursement for that night from VRBO has not been refunded to us at more than a week later. Overall, considering the weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at George's Pond and loved the food at Ruth and Wimpies. Best lobster we had!

Family Get Away

Great little cabin in a quiet, beautiful spot!

My family (self, husband, and 3 boys) love hiking vacations in the National Parks...but we don't love crowds. At about 40-50min outside Acadia National Park, this cabin was perfect. We could drive into the park early and hike, then come 'home' to George's pond and fall in! The view is spectacular, I loved boating and the boys loved the diving rock. The cabin felt more like you were borrowing a good friends family cabin than like a rental. Cozy decor and comfortable beds. We also spent a great deal of time reading on the deck around the propane fire pit. Great place for us all to recharge! We'll definitely come back. One trip to this part of Maine is not enough!

Peaceful Lake

The cabin was clean. The location was conveniently located in proximity to a gas station, groceries, restaurants, and Acadia. There was minimal boat traffic which made for a relaxing and quiet week. The fishing was very good for August. My husband caught several good size fish off the dock.

Fantastic Maine Camp

This was just the place to vacation with good friends! The camp has all you need for a summer getaway and more! Waking up to the sound of loons on the lake everyday was a treat! The pond is quietly active with duck families learning to swim and dive! And the sleeping porch is just a dream!

Peaceful

We really enjoyed our getaway to this cabin on George's Pond. We fished, went kayaking and went swimming. In the evenings we started fire in fireplace and played card/board games. The view from the cabin and dock is so beautiful and serene. Our only complaint would be we wished the bathroom was bigger - its very tight. What a relaxing getaway

Perfect location for a quiet getaway to the Maine coast. Acadia National Park is about 30 minutes away. Rustic cabin was the perfect setting for peace and quiet. Beautiful lake with dock, kayaking available. Host was very informative, gracious and accommodating. Absolutely loved it.

Amazing getaway!!!!!

Beautiful cabin with great views of the lake. We were on the dock one morning and counted 7 bald eagles soaring over the lake. Listened to the loons after dusk as we sat by the cozy gas firepit. 40 minutes from Acadia. We hiked 3 days and put in 22 miles. Highly recommended.

Great cabin getaway

So nice to spend time at beautiful George's Pond fishing, kayaking and swimming. The cabin was small and a bit dark but very clean, neat and orderly. Host was responsive and accommodating and the location was perfect for traveling to and from Bar Harbor. We had a great time!

Sweet cottage with natural charm. The location is perfect as it offers a sense of seclusion given the trees blocking out neighbors. Quiet lake with loons and eagles. A perfect spot to refresh and restore! Love it.

The Dock is the place to be!

Perfect pond trip

Exactly as pictured. Responsive and helpful owner gave terrific advice via text on the day before and of our arrival. Loved the kayaks, dock, porch, deck, games and jigsaw puzzles, plus the loon and bald eagle spotting. Neighbors on both sides are relatively close but neither were present during our visit, so it was mercifully quiet - minus the passing motorboat/jetski here and there. Great opportunity for our family to unplug and unwind as cell reception was weak and the house wifi wouldn’t connect to our devices (thank goodness!!! we really needed a break).

Great Getaway

What a wonderful and relaxing week to unplug and be in nature. The house was cozy and worked well for the two of us. Danielle was great at communication and even gave us some good insight about things like grocery locations. Acadia is close enough for day trips. It was the perfect blend of pond and ocean.
