We had an amazing stay at The Orchard House. The pictures do not do it justice. It is beautiful and special. We stayed in the Library Room. Very unique and spacious for 2 people. I am in love with the bed/mattress! The light breakfast served (coffee/tea, cereal, boiled eggs, juice, toast.etc) was perfect and a great way to start the day. The owner Bill (and his Mom Lynn owner of the vintage shop Folly) are fabulous. And the dogs, Bingo and Bay are the icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend! And we hope to come back in summer.

The Orchard House & Cafe was a serene and cozy establishment with thought put into every detail of our stay. Our entry was simple, the room was immaculate and well appointed with all the comforts of home. Breakfast was arranged and waiting for us with a generous time frame which meant we could sleep in! The only down side is … you don’t want to leave!! Thank you Bill for your hospitality and warmth! We can’t wait to visit again!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Orchard. Charming room, quiet...and when we woke up we came downstairs to find the cutest table set for two and a delicious breakfast spread. Highly recommend. Great place.

Quel bel endroit! Hors du temps, la maison est jolie et très bien rénovée. Il n'y a que le réseau wifi qui nous rappelle que nous sommes en 2023. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

This is a cute farmhouse. We could hear the people above us walking/running. There were limited options for breakfast and not many options for transportation (only one taxi service).

Thank you for your review. My apologies for the upstairs guests. Had i known that they were stepping loudly, I certainly would have asked that they attempt to soften their steps. I am hopeful that Freeport will expand their Taxi/Uber/Lift services in the near future.

Renovated farmhouse
There was no a/c on the top floor of an old farmhouse. The owner said there was a ceiling fan for comfort, seriously-late June? Ok, we opened windows & heard expressway traffic all night. Also, there was no fridge available.

Our inn is an old farmhouse and does have central air conditioning in all rooms. We apologize if the air conditioning or the stay with us was not satisfactory. We do supply ceiling fans as an added option if the cooling was not enough. We also provide room refrigerators by request. Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Renovated farm house that looked like it was decorated by Martha Stewart herself! Hot running water in the shower with a shower head tall enough to accommodate a six foot five man! Bill and his yellow lab were both friendly and hospitable. When my wife leaves a BnB happy you've really accomplished something. Thank you! Tom

This was a unique property and experience. We didn’t run into anyone at the property or interact with any staff. It was actually refreshing and fine for our purposes. The building was nicely renovated and since we both slept like a log after a long travel day, it was perfect.

The decor was very attractive and it is convenient to two highways. They have self-check-in after 3 p.m. and as we arrived at night we didn’t see anybody else. This is convenient but would have been nice to ask about the area, etc. The walls were very thin and we could hear both sides of the phone conversation in the room across a narrow hallway. You could hear road traffic all night from 95 and route 1. Breakfast is minimal—no cooked food. Stain on the inside of the otherwise clean-looking white bedspread and on one of the pillow shams.

We never saw any of the staff, which can be a good thing sometimes, but the cameras in public areas were a bit disconcerting - to know you are being watched but never see anyone. Also, some additional attention to cleaning (dusting, etc) in our room and bathroom was needed. When your decor is mostly white, this is really noticeable. Otherwise, the property itself was gorgeous, the room was very nice, and the linens were excellent - a great night’s sleep!

I wanted to thank you for review and suggestions. The lack of staff is intentional as we want to respect every customers' privacy. However, Inn guests are encouraged to reach out to the innkeeper at any time during their stay. To set the record straight...we do not have any cameras in the public areas. Doing so would be a major breach of my customers' privacy. I hope you will return again soon... Enjoy Maine!

Beautiful place but very close to hwy 95 so quite noisy. Room was very nice but we had machine or pump type noise all night. Bad sleep. Service is very hands off. If you like that..

I've been watching this property be renovated and had wanted to stay and see how they did. I was so pleasantly surprised - it's so clean, crisp, simple and classy. What a reprieve from the bustling world outside. The inn was full during my stay, but you'd never know it. It was quiet and peaceful and everyone respected the hours. I loved the "no key" easy access and the morning buffet of beverages and breakfast treats. It was just enough to get the day going. Well-done!

This is old house that was beautifully renovated. I loved the feel and atmosphere. Our room had 2 beds and private bathroom. The room was a good size and there was a TV. The breakfast was small continental but did have hard boiled eggs and bread for toasting and fruit. I would stay here again.

The property was so well cared for. Bill the inn keeper thinks of everything; nothing is overlooked, not even the smallest detail. As I think about our stay, there was absolutely nothing about our stay that was negative.
