Vielen Dank für Ihr Feedback und entschuldigen Sie bitte, falls einige Artikel nicht zu Ihrer Zufriedenheit waren. Unsere reguläre Reinigungskraft war über Weihnachten weg, aber leider hat die Ersatzreinigungskraft keine gute Arbeit geleistet, aber ich verstehe Ihre Argumente. Ich werde neue Handtücher und Bettwäsche bestellen. Allerdings gibt es ein paar Punkte, mit denen ich ein Problem habe. Ich habe nie eine Beschwerde über die Betten erhalten, sie sind alle von guter Qualität und die meisten haben Matratzen, die weniger als ein Jahr alt sind. Das Bad ist nicht sehr rostig und sehr brauchbar. Rund um den Abfluss gibt es Rost, der jedoch nicht ersetzt werden kann, es sei denn, die gesamte Badewanne wird ausgetauscht. Das gesamte Wasser der Insel ist entsalzt. Sie sollten es nicht trinken, da es noch etwas Salz enthält. Leider wirkt sich dieses salzige Wasser auf alles aus, was es berührt, sodass sich rund um das Abflussloch etwas Rost bildet. Außerdem entsteht Rost in der Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine und im Warmwasserbereiter. Das ist einer der Nachteile, wenn man Meerwasser und kein Süßwasser hat.

I'm very disappointed with receiving only 3 stars in your review; all my previous reviews have been either 5 or 4 stars. Regarding the cleanliness, and I'm fully aware of how important this is, the only excuse that I can offer is that the regular cleaner was away and I had a stand-in to do the cleaning - unfortunately they obviously didn't do a good job and I apologise for that. However, this is not indicative of the house, it is always meticulously cleaned, as can be seen from other reviews. There is also always a change of linen and towels during a two week stay. I can only put it down to the temporary cleaner not fully understanding the instructions, but again, apologies for this. However, I'm surprised that you didn't contact me regarding this as you had already contacted me regarding operating the washing machine and TV? I would gladly have sorted out both issues should you have called me. Regarding the upgrading.... the house is continuously upgraded, it has been newly painted inside and out within the last year, all outside furniture, dining table, wicker chairs and table and new sun loungers have been put in place within the last year. In addition, within the last 6 months, the rooftop has been completely renovated with newly laid astro-turf and new accompanying furniture.

Ik ben blij te horen dat u en uw gezin genoten hebben van uw verblijf, het huis en de centrale ligging. Alle deuren en ramen sluiten en sluiten goed. Ik denk dat je doelt op de luiken, die decoratief zijn, recentelijk zijn geverfd en al jaren niet meer in de juiste zin zijn gebruikt. Zoals ik al zei, ze zijn alleen decoratief, het huis is volledig beveiligd.

Thank you for your kind comments Jessica. I’m glad that you all enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately, there is some work going on at a nearby house but this is outside my control. I am hoping that it will be finished very soon. I’m disappointed to hear that the pool was cold, if you had let me know I could have had Mark look at it for you and get it sorted out. The pool is heated electrically but needs the pool cover replaced after use to retain the heat.

On the couple of points you mentioned, I will get the loungers sorted and yes, the water tank is a little on the small side, so six consecutive showers is going to be a strain on it. I am hampered by the tight space where the tank is situated but I will do my best to get it sorted.

Thank you for your feedback Ann, it is very much appreciated. Just to explain to future guests..... Unfortunately, we had two major underfloor water leaks during the past months which caused a lot of paint damage to the bottom of the walls (the walls had only been painted a few weeks beforehand). After the first leak and damage, the bottom of the walls were all striped back, replastered and the villa was repainted. No sooner was this done than we had a second leak while the villa was unoccupied and the same damage occurred. The new leak was fixed, and the paint stripped back, we brought in dehumidifiers to dry out the walls as quickly as possible, before replastering and painting, but we ran out of time to have all works 100% complete before guests arrived. I do apologise for the mustiness and patchy paint as we aired and dried out the villa as much as possible. The re- painting will take place very shortly during the next vacancy. We also had a pool pump problem and an electrical problem within the last couple of months. All fixed now but when it rains it pours!!! I just want to reassure future guests that we encountered a bad patch, that we vigourously try to keep our house in top condition and that all problems have been fixed or are being fixed as I type this up. I’d like to thank Ann for her feedback and also for her comments about the great location of the villa.

Hi Irene, I'm delighted to hear that you all had a great time and that the kids really enjoyed the pool. Thank you for your kind comments on the house and it's location. The location is perfect, near everything, yet in a very quiet spot. Just a note... there are a couple of fans in the wardrobe. Or if not, then Johnny could have supplied them. I will make sure they are out for the next guests. Apologies too to the guest who made the comment about the villa needing painting. I was very puzzled at the time as the villa had been painted only 6 months beforehand. What I didn't realise was, that due to a water leak, there was some water damage to the paintwork in places. The painter had treated the walls but didn't have time to repaint before the guests arrived. Sincerest apologies.

Thank you for taking the time to write up a review and I'm glad to hear that overall you had a very enjoyable stay. You make some valid points about the lights and the TV channels. I take your points about the light fittings and will replace them straight away, I will be there myself in a couple of weeks time in July 2018. I am a bit puzzled, however, about it needing a lick of paint as it was totally repainted inside in Dec 2017 and outside a year or so before that. Yes, the TV channel set up is only ok. It is difficult to get the usual channels we watch when in the Canarys. The TV, while quite new, is not a smart TV, but I am bring a "Roku" streaming stick which will convert the TV into a smart one. I will be adding Netflix to the streamer, so guests can watch movies, box sets etc I am hoping that it will be a very good connection as we recently got a 300 megabyte fibre optic cable installed for broadband.

Glad to hear that you had a great time and really liked the villa and would love to see you return. I take your point about the terrace, you are correct, the walls are not high and it is not a suitable area for small children. Just to let people know, there is a locked gate at the bottom of the steps, to prevent children from accessing it. There is also a fence and locked gate near the steps, also to prevent small children access. This fence doubles up as to prevent access to the pool also.

Disappointed to hear that you were less than impressed with the villa. I try to keep it as up to date as possible. The villa was completely repainted on the outside less than a year ago. The inside was repainted just before Christmas 2017 shortly before you arrived. The pool heating system was replaced a year ago, the indoor water heaters and washing machine were replaced within the last year. New barbeque 6 months ago. There is continuous maintenance carried out on the villa. My wife and I stayed there before Christmas and ordered new linen and towels, cutlery, crockery and glasses, new couch covers, cushions etc. which would have been in place before you arrived. We actually ordered a new bed for the main room, I never had any trouble sleeping on the mattress, and the only issue with the bed was that, for some reason, it was shorter than a regular bed, so we decided to replace it. Unfortunately, as this was only ordered a couple of weeks before your stay, it wasn't delivered until after you had left. Regarding the TV channels, you won't get the same as what you have at home, however, we now have 300 megabyte broadband (exceptionally fast, 3 times faster than what I have at home myself) and I will have a streaming device linked to the TV so you can log on to your Netflix/Amazon/Now account, if you have one. Will look into getting more channels. Apologies for the pool being dirty on arrival, it is cleaned every week (sometimes twice) and this shouldn't have been the case for you, no excuse there. The pool isn't very large, it's about the same size as most pools in the area but the big plus for my pool is that it is heated during the winter (there is no need for heating during the summer). Yes, other villas have larger pools, but usually the larger pools are not heated. If they are both large and heated then you will certainly be paying a premium. So, overall, I am very disappointed to see that you rated my villa as only 3 stars. It might not have been perfect for you but I hope this won’t put off prospective guests as nearly all my reviews are either 5 or 4 star.

Thanks Lynn for your kind comments. I am considering air con as it happens. Fuerteventura has experienced heatwave weather during October with temperatures reaching 40 degrees with no wind. There is almost always a cooling breezing on Fuerteventura which keep the villa reasonably cool at night, that said, I do take your point about air con and will look into it.
