“I usually stay at Hetland Hall because it is located a bit off and it is quiet. This time though, not so much! There was a wedding reception (on a Tuesday) and I was for some reason given a room just over the ballroom. Extremely loud music until the middle of the night made sleeping impossible. I wasn't informed that there was a party that night and I can't understand why I wasn't given a room in some other part of the hotel. Simply unacceptable.”

“Room was spacious but facing parking which came as a surprise. Breakfast and dinner options are good. Pool facilities are good. First breakfast only one person doing everything who was stressed and abrupt and complained so out loud. The other morning there were more staff so ok. “Nice hotel, walking distance to the blacksmiths and all the gift shops. The room was a little dated but very spacious and clean. I loved the little fireplace heater. The staff was excellent and I enjoyed the breakfast. The only issue I had was the lack of outlets near the bed to charge your phone. I attended a wedding at Gretna and the reception was held here, I really enjoyed the dinner!”

“Washington Central is by far the best hotel to stay in Workington. Point. However, this has to do more with the fact that the city itself does not provide really comfy and luxurious accommodation, than Washington Central being awesome. A frequent business traveler, I can definitely say that the hotel's pricing is a bit too high for its service scopes. But hey, if the other hotels in town are worthless, then they can enjoy their monopoly status, right? Positives: very good service, helpful...

“Serious problem on phone when trying to enter the building due to the lady on line unable to explane that the room key and front door keys were in the lock box. I discussed this with the manager the following day and he accepted that the lady did have problems in explaining things. Note that anyone arriving without an operating telephone would not be able to get the code for the lock box!!! ”

“We had a great stay at Hamilton House – very friendly owners, spotlessly clean property, large comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Really useful having the car park at the back for our motorcycles, out of sight and under cameras. 15 minute walk in to town. Dumfries is a great base for exploring the area, highly recommended, we will be back!”

“Har bott på The Trout flera gånger tidigare och har alltid varit väldigt nöjd. Rykten vi hörde på byn sa att det blivit ny ägare och att det inte var lika bra längre. När vi kom dit så höll man på med renovering och vi blev initialt placerade i ett rum som inte alls motsvarade våra förväntningar. Personalen var som alltid tidigare helt fantastisk och de löste ett annat rum till oss.
