The Charming on Lake Lanier is a really special spot. A beautiful 3 story brick home with daylight walk out basement, nestled on a wooded lot. The backyard has a brick patio & stairs leading down to our private dock on a small, quiet bay of Lake Lanier.

Our home is across the water from Don Carter State Park. Dock available for your boat parking - use public launch dock.

Entry level / ground floor. Walk into the hardwood floored, light & bright living room / dining room. The open floor plan means you can gather easily with your group - we host up to 10 people comfortably.

The living room has a decorative (not operational) fireplace, seating for 8 & record player stocked with records for you to spin.

The dining room is connected to the living room & seats 8. There is a fun peach colored dining hutch. Spot the other peach tributes sprinkled thru the house. We love Georgia & visit our home frequently. Because we are guests here frequently you will find this home stocked with more than just the basics.

Large kitchen with granite countertops & stainless steel appliances. Stocked with dinnerware, silverware & glassware. Pots, pans & utensils. Coffee maker. Filtered water.

This home sleeps a maximum of 9 guests in the following configurations.

Upstairs is carpeted with 2 bedrooms & a full bathroom. The primary suite has a King size bed. BRAND NEW & super comfortable mattress + full length mirror. This very large light infused bedroom has the feeling of being up in a tree house - the views out to the trees is really special. There is also a couch here that turns into a futon, a large flatscreen TV mounted on the wall & fun cheetah print ottoman / additional seat. This is a great area to watch TV or curl up with a good book.

The 2nd bedroom upstairs Queen bed with dresser and closet.

The bathroom for this level has 2 sinks, 2 countertops, 2 mirrors, a tub / shower combo. Stairs to the upstairs are closed off with a baby gate at the top of the stairs.

Downstairs is a walk out basement that sleeps 6 people in one large open bonus room or 2nd living room. There is currently 2 sets of twin bunk beds and a a fun pink "Explorer Play Fort". There is a sofas that pulls out into a Queen sofa sleeper bed. There is also a small eating or card/game table for 4. There is a walk out to a brick patio & farther down steps to the dock on Lake Lanier.

Also in the basement Arcade1Up Star Wars pinball machine, and TV. Full bathroom with double vanity, bath/shower combo and toilet,

The basement level also has a full size washer & drier. Guests are welcome to do wash, note: we do not supply laundry detergent. There is also a full bathroom in this area. Stairs to the basement are closed off with a baby gate.

There are plenty of life jackets for your use in the storage under the stairs.

Great getaway on Lake Lanier

We really enjoyed our stay here with a mix of adults and children ranging from 15 months to 11 years; great views of Lake Lanier from all over the house, nice kitchen, awesome living room + dining room area. The master bedroom is HUGE and super comfortable, and it was great having bathrooms on all 3 levels of the house. The basement was a hit with the kids, and the house is only 10 mins from a brand new Publix, which was super convenient. We really appreciated the super responsive communication from the hosts, and the super easy checkout process (no cleaning to worry about, no fuss). Great place from which to enjoy Lake Lanier and the Gainseville area!

Family get away

The house is great for a bigger family. Very comfortable and lots of space to spread out. The online pictures were pretty accurate of the property. The host was easy to contact and answered questions quickly. The location was a bit off the beaten path but worked for us.

The property was nice and the house was kept neat. The downstairs of the house was extremely dusty. The lights had cob webs and deep dust in the glass, baseboards and kitchen was dirty. It actually was gross. We contacted Paige and she got someone out to dust the lamps the next day. She was very kind. I sent pictures because we were leaving the next day and Paige responded that she had the cleaners out for a deep cleaning.

Charming

Home has a perfect layout for family gathering. Well stocked kitchen. No way swimming was possible from property. And no useable outdoor grill. But close to Olympic Park which has a small public beach and swim area. Paige was wonderful to work with and quickly responsive.

Family weekend

Cute cottage, kitchen not well equipped, not enough to want to stay in and cook. Decor needs significant updating. The aerial photo leads the renter to believe that the water is user friendly, but it is so far at the end of the slew that getting in the water is out of the question. It was disappointing.

Peaceful Relaxation

Winter Stay-- accommodation for 11 adults

Stayed at the property the last week of December, we were a large group of 11. Overall the property is well kept, loved the back yard view of the woods and lake and the panoramic windows through the house and the fire pit. The house also had steps into the woods and a walking trail to the lake. The house accommodates 12, however, if your traveling in the colder months make a note that the basement floor that accommodates 5 beds and a full bathroom is very COLD and no heat is available (the ceiling has a vent but no thermostat and this was confirmed after reaching out to the host who was very pleasant and responsive.) Overall the house felt clean and welcoming with the exception of the bathroom showers- all the showers in the house were not properly clean before our arrival- we were surprise considering the overall bathrooms were clean and beautiful (clearly the cleaning person skipped washing the showers). The host was fabulous to work with and I would stay again considering the time of the year and if I need to use the bottom basement beds.

Lake Lanier Christmas Gathering

We had a very delightful stay and Paige was an exceptional host. The home is roomy and well laid out with two large bathrooms plus a 1/2 bath on the ground floor. The kitchen was also well laid out with plenty of storage. We will be back in the future.

STAYCATION!

We had the best relaxing staycation ever! Our home is in process of being sold, so we needed a home away from home. this pretty cottage on the lake is just that, pretty, quiet peaceful, all I heard is the birds chirping early mornings. we did not get to use the dock, it was cloudy and off and on rain. I am cook at heart and the only things I wish the home had was more pots, more cooking utensils as wooden spoons for cooking, placemats for their glass beautiful table. Beds were amazing I never sleep in, but family slept in until 11am. We will be back my 17 year old daughter who always has something to do with friends, said she had the best relaxing weekend ever. SHE WAS READY FOR 1st day of school now. walk to lake is pretty steep, launching your own Kayak, Paddle board is bit tricky, but it can be done just be careful. overall we ENJOYED every minute. thank you to the hosts the home is dreamy.
