"The cottages were secluded and peaceful, just what we wanted in a getaway. Some people may prefer a more updated retreat but everything needed for a stay was provided: basic shower but water was piping hot, towels provided and hairdryer, very comfortable beds, kitchen had stove, microwave, fridge freezer, pots, utensils, salt, pepper, table & chairs. A fan was provided in each room. TV. Tabletop gas BBQ outside for each cottage. Definitely need a car to get around. Host very attentive. Would definitely stay again if the chance arises."
"We had an enjoyable relaxing day. The place is very clean and tidy and had everything that we needed for our mini vacation. We will definitely stay there again. It’s our second vacation there. "
"The main objective of our 15 day trip to Newfoundland was to see icebergs, puffins and several coastal villages. But we also wanted at least one night inland. Back Country Cottages fit that perfectly. A full 30 km inland on old logging roads and trails off the highway, to the cabin at a 12 km long “pond”. We were really glad we had the owner drive us in and out in his truck because our rented sedan would have bottomed out in several places. It also gave us a great chat with the friendly and humorous owner who grew up in the area, to learn local history. The cabin was beautifully finish with all walls, ceilings and cabinets in knotty pine. Very rustic and calming vs the usual multi colour and nick nacks in many B&B. Would be fabulous for trout and salmon fly/fisher-people to stay for many days. "
