When you arrive at A Bear Above cabin, you will experience amazing, majestic, mountain views of Mt LeConte. This roomy cabin is perched above the Ober Mountain ski lodge and downtown Gatlinburg with the National Park boundary, and an entrance to Cove Mountain trail, just across the road. Private and quiet location for family fun or getaway for couples looking to recharge. Near the Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance, Ober Mountain Ski Resort, Downtown Gatlinburg, and Gatlinburg bypass to Pigeon Forge. This mountain retreat is easily in one of the most convenient locations in the Smokies. Being across the road from the National Park, makes this particular cabin great for wildlife encounters (black bears). Please Be Bear Aware. Keep your distance from the bears and do not feed them! Remove all food from your vehicles as a deterrent . A great way to see the area is from the nearby Aerial Tram to Gatlinburg. For entertainment, nearby Ober Mountain (formerly known as Ober Gatlinburg) has the Ski Mountain Coaster, Zip line, a wildlife zoo, Mountain bike trail, ice skating, snow skiing, alpine slide, snow tubing, scenic chairlift, rock wall climbing, kiddie umbrella ride, amaze'n'maze, carousel, trails, ice bumper cars, shops, and dining. Gatlinburg provides great fun during all seasons. This is one of the only cabins with great views in all three (3) directions. The view facing the northeast side is towards Pigeon Forge & Sevierville in which direction you can see for miles and miles. All the rear windows face Southeast towards the spectacular mountain views of Mt LeConte and Chimney Tops.
This cabin is located on a quiet road and has a paved drive with a 2 car garage. It also has additional parking. This retreat provides a very peaceful setting for your upcoming vacation.
After you park, you can enter the home by either the garage or directly from the driveway into the front gate to the front door with no stairways to negotiate. You will enter this beautiful home where your dream vacation awaits. Ring camera and security cameras (audio and video) located at front door and garage areas.
The cabin has a master bedroom isolated far away from the common areas with a king sized bed, on suite tiled bath with granite countertop, electric fireplace, smart TV, and french doors that open onto a private deck with seating.
Bedroom number 2 has a queen sized bed, on suite bath, smart TV, and a set of french doors that open onto a private balcony with seating.
A 3rd bedroom has a queen sized bed and smart TV. This bedroom is on the main floor and is level to the driveway and next to a full bath, and would provide great accommodations for guests that might be challenged by stairs.
The living room faces out towards Mt LeConte and has a sleeper sofa, smart TV, and a fireplace.
Upstairs there is a mini library which contains a desk and table with chairs. This area also contains several books, puzzles, and board games for your entertainment. This reading area overlooks the living room and has exquisite mountain views.
The game room contains a pool table, video arcade console with 1,600 popular games, a foosball table, smart TV, a sleeper sofa, a full bath, a wood burning fireplace, and French doors that open out onto a private deck with a hot tub.
The kitchen has granite counter tops with a peninsula with seating for 3, an electric range, microwave, refrigerator, coffee makers, dishwasher, blender, utensils, pots and pans, dishes, and a dining area with table for 6.
There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, iron, ironing board, and utility sink for your convenience located behind the garage. There is a 2 car garage for parking and a spot on the driveway for a 3rd vehicle to park.
The deck on the front entrance has a seating area with a propane fire pit. The deck extends through a breezeway to the large rear deck that contains an outdoor dining table with seating for 6 and several chairs for relaxing and viewing the mountains. There is a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking. This is a great cabin for viewing mountain wildlife, relaxing, and making special memories with friends and family.
This cabin is 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg which offers shopping, music, hiking in the National Park, candy shops, putt putt golf, etc. as well as fabulous dining on the Parkway such as the Park Grill with *Free Parking, The Peddler with *Free Parking, Cherokee Grill, Best Little Italian, and out on 321 you will find the Alamo *Free Parking. Delauder's BBQ (formerly in Gatlinburg) moved to 1305 Dolly Parton Pkwy in Sevierville and the best BBQ in our opinion anywhere with plenty of *Free Parking. *Free Parking to patrons of the restaurant.
The home is approximately 25 minutes to Pigeon Forge, home to Dollywood, The Island, Space Race Adventures, Sky Fly Soar America, and several other attractions. Ring and Security cameras located at front door and garage areas (audio and video). All tv's in the cabin are smart tv's.
