This is our 2nd stay here and absolutely love it! Clean and nice nothing fancy but can walk to everywhere in town. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Free breakfast too!

The people were nice. The property is old and has a musty smell, it's clean but has been around since 1937. The room was clean but strangely didn't have a refrigerator, microwave or lamp. The room that we stayed in was across the river from the Mysterious Mansion. The mansion played very loud cult type music from 3 PM until 10 PM. This made our patio unacceptable during this time period. There's central heat and air that works very well. The bathroom was nicely renovated, clean and functional. Breakfast was included with the room. Great job.

Thank you so much for being our guest, we appreciate you very much. We do offer refrigerators and microwaves in our specialty rooms/suites but unfortunately we are limited on power and aren't currently able to have them throughout the hotel. Hopefully someday!

The location was perfect for the entrance to the Smokies! Enjoyed restaurants like Calhoun’s, as well as the Smoky Mountain Brewery that were walkable from the inn. The breakfast that was included was great (eggs, bacon, biscuits, homefries, coffee, juice, etc.). Room was very clean with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. What is keeping me from giving a five star review was that the younger male employees at the desks were not the most friendly upon check-in and walking into the inn later at evening/night (5 -10pm). The women running the desk in the daytime hours were delightful. Overall, would stay again due to proximity to the park.

This was my first time staying in a “historic” hotel. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the room seemed to be unchanged from when the hotel was built in 1937. The bed was comfortable but the furnishings in general were old and smelly. I think they could make major updates to the facility without diminishing the historic nature of the hotel.

Thanks so much for being our guest, we appreciate you very much. The Inn has undergone extensive remodeling over the last 10 years offering all of the modern day conveniences. The carpeting and draperies were all updated and are due to be updated again very soon. The furnishings however are in place by design and won't be going away any time soon. All of our furniture is hard rock maple so I'm not quite sure how it could be "smelly"?

Our stay at the Historic Gatlinburg Inn was great. The hotel’s location was excellent for exploring Gatlinburg and the staff were very welcoming. Excellent peanut butter cookies to snack on and a tasty breakfast!

Overall a very good place. Great staff in a great area. Breakfast was phenomenal. Great choices, even for our daughter who is gluten and dairy free. The bathrooms must have been recently remodeled and they are great. The only downside is the carpeting in the rooms are bad. They need removed and replaced with some sort of laminate. Also, the beds are firm. Not comfortable after the first night. I'd recommend however because the pluses definitely outweigh the few negatives.

Our stay was great! I would definitely recommend. The hotel was very clean and the staff was wonderful. I would have to say that the rooms could use a bit of updating. I think keeping the vibe of the oldest hotel in Gatlinburg is great, but a furniture reboot could be done while keeping the vibe. The parking lot in the front of the hotel is horrible. It’s incredibly tight if you are driving anything bigger than a car or compact suv. I believe it should be required that all full size suvs, vans, etc be parking in the back. Otherwise, this was a wonderful stay!

We have stayed here twice because the location is ideal and the staff is wonderful. We realize that the goal is to appreciate the history of the property and absolutely do appreciate the lobby and common areas. The rooms however do need updating. The 70's paneling is not original to the property and the smell in the rooms is overwhelming. We kept our balcony door open while in the room but still suffered from headaches due to the smell. The bathrooms were updated and are very nice. It would benefit the ratings if the bedroom spaces were as well.

Never had to drive once. Could go play, eat, and drink and still make it back to my hotel. Great location and staff. Definitely one of the only places I'd stay at in the Gatlinburg.

We will be staying here again and again!!
The Historic Gatlinburg Inn was wonderful. Tons of history and you felt like you were back 50 yrs, yet had a modern feel to it! We had a balcony room and many of the furnishings in our room are originals in excellent condition. They had a free hot breakfast that was excellent. Fireplaces throughout. Great friendly people working there. We highly recommend this place for your stay in Gatlinburg!
