Surprising city!
Medium size room, be prepared to climb 26 steps to your room. This may be a problem if you have many pieces of luggage or mobility problems. Giovanni, the manager, was very nice and helpful. Locationwise, very close to Brignole train station and 10-minute walk to historic center, where you can shop and find very good restaurants.

Bequeme Lage in der Nähe vom Bahnhof. Ca 10-15 min bis in die Altstadt von Genua. Sehr unkompliziertes Check-in. Nachdem wir den Besitzer informiert haben über unsere späte Anreise, hat er uns detaillierte Anweisungen per E-mail geschickt. Am Abend hat alles super geklappt und wir sind problemlos ins Zimmer hinein gekommen. Er hat uns sogar einen Stadtplan, in dem die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten gekennzeichnet waren, gelassen. In ca.300 m gibt es einen überdachten Parkplatz (18€/24h). Für Städtetrip sehr bequem.

Angefangen von der Kommunikation über die Begrüßung bis zum Empfang durch den Gastgeber war alles perfekt. Schönes Zimmer in toller, ruhiger Lage gepaart mit einem modernen Bad inklusive Dusche.

Great little guesthouse
We stayed at il Borgo for 11 days while my wife was getting medical treatment at a local hospital. The guest house is very close to Brignole station. We did several day trips on non treatment days so it was very convenient. The inn is on the north end of the city center. A short walk to sightseeing. There’s a grocery store and restaurants a stones throw away. The rooms are clean, updated, large bathroom and comfortable and air conditioned. Giovanni the proprietor is wonderful. Communication before and during our stay was great. He’s always available for your needs and can help with local information. We appreciate his hospitality.

このホテルの致命的な点は、受付までに20数段の急階段を登らざるを得ない。10数キロのトランクを持っては女性や老人にはとても登れないか転倒の危険あり。受付も普段はおらず、チェックアウトを朝8時と言っていたのに不在でカギと税金を机の上に置いて帰った。要は、ホテルとして宿泊以前の問題。こういう先は、載せてはならない。

Caro cliente, sono spiacente che abbia avuto problemi con le scale. Siamo stupiti di ciò, in quanto era a conoscenza della mancanza dell'ascensore. Teniamo in modo particolare alla trasparenza nella relazione con i nostri clienti ed è per questo che: 1) sulla nostra pagina di Expedia.com è chiaramente indicato che non abbiamo l'ascensore e sono pubblicate fotografie delle scale, 2) dopo aver ricevuto la prenotazione Le abbiamo inviato una email sottolineando che le scale di accesso sono ripide. 3) aiutiamo sempre i cliente con le valigie. Inoltre, come indicato nella pagina di Expedia siamo un affittacamere non abbiamo un servizio di reception 24 su 24 e nel vostro caso non era stato richiesto nessun servizio per quell'ora.

A gorgeous room in a quaint hotel. The location was really good, only five minutes walk from shops and restaurants. The host was lovely and really helpful, he gave us brilliant recommendations of things to do and see. The walls of the hotel were quite thin so you could hear noise on the street and next door, but we didn’t mind so much as it was only for a couple of nights! The stairs to the room are very steep, again it wasn’t an issue for us as we had no luggage but I can see how that would be difficult! Overall, an amazing place to stay- good value for money and characterful rooms.

Room was clean, bathroom new. Location was really central, close to the old town. Giovani was so helpful and made sure we were taken care of. He helped us find a place to park our rental car, recommended great restaurants and assured us the location and walkway to the old town were safe 24/7. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Nice hotel within walking distance of sights
Very small friendly hotel on an alley behind Brignole station. Clean and pleasant with friendly staff who aren't there all the time but access and communication no problem. Giovanni gave us some great tips on restaurants, cafes, etc. Easy to walk to all touristy parts of Genoa or close to transit stops. Note had air con, roof fan (refreshing), small fridge, kettle and safe, but long steep stairs to rooms.

Good, convenient location
Owner provided excellent directions and we were at property in just a couple of minutes from the Volabus stop opposite Brignole station. Excellent location on a quiet, pedestrian street behind station, but no noise from trains. Our room was very comfortable and extremely clean. Owner took a lot of time when we arrived to talk over some maps of the city and coastline and make recommendations. Easy walk to all areas of the city and perfect for travelling to coastal areas from Brignole station or for catching buses from the stands opposite station. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already thinking about when we will go there again! It was not an issue for us, but the stairs leading from the front door to the first floor are very steep so would be an issue for those with mobility problems.

Gem near Brignole Station on Sweet Local Street
Il Borgo di Genova may be a short walk from Brignole rail station, but you’d never know it from its location on a narrow and sweet street of local homes and shops. My room had everything I needed, including some welcome touches, such as a magnifying mirror and makeup-removal pads in the bathroom, and there is both air conditioning and a ceiling fan (the ceiling fan was perfect for my night there). Giovanni was most helpful before and at check-in, providing useful dining and sightseeing information. Il Borgo di Genova is a wonderful value.

Cosy et idéalement situé
Charmante auberge située à 2 pas de la gare, très pratique quand on veut parcourir la côte ligurienne. L'accueil de Giovanni est chaleureux et souriant. Il prend le temps de donner plein de conseils pour visiter Gênes et sa région et suggère quelques adresses très sympas où se restaurer. Les chambres sont confortables, décorées avec gout et impeccables.

Great location, very peaceful and accessible. The host provided great info about making the most out of the visit to Genova. Walking distance to the centre. Room conditions perfect. Do not miss the panaromic view at the top, Camogli worth a visit too. Use the Genova daily pass, you'll save a lot.

Great place to stay!, highly recommended!
The owner is super super nice. The rooms are exactly as described and how they look like in the pictures. The check in was flexible. There are several restaurants (one actually right in front of the main door, which is good value for money), a supermarket nearby, and one place for having breakfast right around the corner. The rooms are perfect, spacious, with a fridge. I only would add a desk for the ocassional email writing, otherwise rooms are perfect!

Yes, go there!
In a quiet neighbourhood but a few blocks from Brignole, this small hotel is perfect. Airy and bright, good mattress and bedding, a mini fridge and a kettle, reliable Wifi. The bathroom is modern, the paint new. The communication with the manager was prompt. My only regret is I booked at the last minute and they had only 1 night available for my dates. It was so much better there than where I went next.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, good location
Because we had to take a train out of Brignole Station we chose this hotel a little away from the old town of Genoa. It turned out to be a great decision, as the hotels closer to the old town were much seedier looking for a lot more money. This hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from old town, on a quiet, charming pedestrian street. It's 3 minutes from the Brignole subway (and train) station so you can also get around town that way. The manager was *extremely* helpful and friendly and recommended great local restaurants that were not expensive, and helped us sort out which sights to see and which to skip. The room was clean and comfortable, completely modern even though in an old building. The bathroom was also completely modern and spotlessly clean. The only drawback to this place is that you have to walk up a very long flight of steep stairs to get to the rooms. But the manager carried our large bags for us, so it wasn't a problem. Overall, although we have not stayed in a lot of Genoa hotels, this seemed to be excellent value for the price.

We had a great stay. The appartment is located centrally close by the Station Brignole and the city center. Giovanni is very friendly and gave us very good advice on restaurants and locations to visit.

Convenient for city of Genoa and travel in Liguria
Il Borgo di Genova is a small B&B situated very conveniently for travel by train in Liguria, being close to Brignole station.The metro also gives fast access around Genoa itself, and the funiculars and the narrow gauge railway to Casella are easily accessed for trips into the hills rather than the coast. The proprietor was there to meet us on arrival and provided useful information regarding restaurants and travel. We spent one week based there and visited a number of coastal resorts between Genoa and La Spezia as well as doing the main attractions in Genoa itself.

We had an amazing stay thanks to Giovanni. He was very kind and made is feel at home. He also gave us insider info on Genoa plus Camogli (our next destination). The location is excellet and the faciity was very nice. Overall very pleasant stay with an affordable price!

Удобное расположение отеля относительно ЖД вокзала, автобусов, недалеко от центра города (пешком минут 10-15 до исторического центра, 20 - до набережной). Район тихий, ночью не шумно. Улица пешеходная. Рядом 2 супермаркета (большой в 5 минутах пешком, маленький рядом с отелем), рестораны. Очень симпатичный хозяин Джузеппе, радушный и отзывчивый. Номер чистый, постель удобная. Милое оформление номера - всё беленькое, стильные мелочи. Есть чайник, чай, маленький холодильник. Ванная комната с новой чистой сантехникой, большая душевая кабина. Достаточно полочек для косметики. Осталось ощущение тепла и уюта. Спасибо!

Wonderful hotel- friendly, clean & comfortable!
A wonderful hotel with the most fantastic location- 50metre walk from the train station and very close to the historic old town of Genova as well as the main shopping street. Alessandra and Giovanni were amazing hosts with great knowledge of the area. Delicious breakfast as well as a very clean and comfortable room. I will definitely stay here again if I ever return to Genova!
