Om boendet

Historic Bucher House with central location to Gettysburg and Lancaster Amish

  • Bucher House is located in downtown Hanover within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants, pubs, and boutique shops. Also, 30 minutes to Gettysburg, and an hour from Baltimore's inner harbor, Lancaster County Amish community, or Hershey PA. Bucher House was built in 1828 and contains many period antiques with modern amenities. Please note: This property is located in downtown Hanover and like many row houses, built very close to the main street through town. While this presents many advantages of being close to downtown activities and attractions, it also has some degree of regular street noise. If you are a rather light sleeper, this property may not be suitable. However, 93% of customer reviews do not find this an issue.

Private parking is wonderful. Rob is great and responsive. For a historic house it was INCREDIBLY clean. If you have allergies, don’t sleep in the attic but that’s self explanatory.Cannot recommend this stay enough. It is truly a wonderful transport in time.

The host was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. He responded quickly when we had questions. The listing was accurate and we were aware of the possibility of street noise, as the house is located on the main street. We enjoyed learning some of the history of the house. It was nice to visit with family while there.

Wonderful stay for our large family. Charming home with a great layout. Child-friendly. Very cozy. Comfortable mattresses. Beautiful spacious garden with shuffleboard game. Feels private even though it's in the middle of town. Only issue was noise from traffic and people walking by; we used a sound machine app with Bluetooth and slept great. Rob was an excellent and responsive host. Will stay again.

Our stay at Bucher House was great. It's a very old house and does have its idiosyncrasies, but they just add to the charm. Rob takes you through the somewhat lengthy check-in process when you arrive, and it's all easy to understand. We used the kitchen quite a bit over our 2 days and it's very well stocked. We had a family meeting in the boardroom each morning before we headed out for the day which is a fun memory. There was plenty of room for our family of 7 adults. The beds were comfy, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Gated parking lot and a convenience store across the street for quick needs. Thanks, Rob!

Relaxing Family Weekend

We enjoyed our 2 night stay during a cousins reunion in Gettysburg. Hanover is a quick drive and having a big home and a nice yard was a nice change from staying at a hotel. We invited our cousins to come visit in the afternoon following a guided tour of the battlefields. Our family enjoyed being in a historic home from the same era.
