“This lodge is great in many ways – good food, friendly staff, knowledgeable guides and you can get really close to the animals. Very family-friendly with special activities etc for kids. Just don’t expect a fully-fledged wilderness experience – the lodge is just off the N2 highway. The area is not huge, and both their four lions and the two elephants are in separate enclosures. “The Aquamarine guest house is a gem in terms of comfort, service and location- with a view over the bay. Highly recommended- but the parking is really at your own risk. Not for theft but for damaging the car when getting into the awkward parking lots. There is however a free taxi shuttle- so once you have parked you don’t need to use the car until you leave. Unfortunately we had a shuttle driver with annoyingly strong opinions about the situation in South Africa, but maybe we were just unlucky...
