Sarah, first and foremost I want to thank you for booking your stay with us as we really appreciate it and we apologize that your stay was not up to your standards. My main reason for responding is to be transparent so other potential renters can know where we stand with this. This is our first 1 Star review ever amongst all of the platforms that we rent our home and our house is booked every single weekend with 5 stars. I understand that you are not from the state of Louisiana, but I must say, most everyone should know that Grambling is a small, old college town. The homes are older, the neighbors are elderly families, or college students. Our house is the only new house on the street. In a perfect world, we would help everyone remodel their homes, but that’s just not realistic. Our profile was not intended to promote the neighbors home or the neighborhood but I can guarantee that you did not have any criminal activity, loud noise compliance or no one in the area bothered you or made you feel uncomfortable. As for the access code, we give out the codes the day before like I mentioned to you. Your reservation starts at 3pm, we made sure you had the code way before that time. We have to change the code after every renter for safety. My apologies for not wanting to give you a code that someone else was using 6 weeks in advance and this is something that we will continue to do to ensure no one returns to the house unannounced. You had an issue getting inside the house with the code and you messaged me, I responded immediately and told you what to do, and when you did it, you got inside the home fine. I don’t see how this was a complaint. Now, for the next part, not one time did any of these things get mentioned. After you got into the home, the last message you sent was asking about what to do with the towels. We provided a content book for you so if you had any questions or concerns, a property manager could have handle it. You didn’t say any of this. Condiments in the cabinets are for your use as well. We purchase these things for everyone to use. We have toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, ketchup, mustard, Mayo, these are things that people appreciate having these little things so they don’t have to go buy them or if they forget about it or need something last min, it might be provided. Not to mention, you are renting a home! These are things that are kept in homes. Never in a million years would I have thought this would be a complaint. The only thing that you mentioned that I truly apologize for, is the marijuana smell. Unfortunately some guests do come in and break the rules. They are penalized accordingly, fined and not able to return to our home. Our cleaning lady spent hours cleaning the home to get the smell out (which is the reason you got your code the morning of your stay) and to the best of her knowledge, she got it out. This takes time to get out. However, it was never brought to our attention that you still smelled it. That book that was provided was with the intent of helping and assisting you with your stay in the town of Grambling but we cannot do that if you do not communicate. My apologies again for the stay not meeting your standards, but I wanted to make sure your notes were addressed so others will know how our process works and they are able to communicate with us anytime.
