Lake Superior Beach Chalet Mellan Lutsen och Grand Marais

Helt renoverad i början av 2017 vilar Cedarwood Hollow Cabin på kanten av en privat kullerstensstrand vid Lake Superior. Cedarwood ligger på en ganska lång sträcka av Cascade Beach Road, halvvägs mellan Lutsen och Grand Marais, längs gränsen till Cascade State Park. Denna autentiska chalet med timmerram har totalrenoverats för att behålla all sin ursprungliga charm från en svunnen tid, medan den är uppdaterad med alla moderna bekvämligheter - inklusive en 48 "italiensk pro-stye gas-serie i köket. Great Room erbjuder en rikligt rymlig layout och har en vedeldad öppen spis, matbord, spelbord och bildfönster så nära Big Lake att det vågor praktiskt taget hoppar på tårna. Det stora sovrummet har en king size-säng och dess egen ingång direkt på däck gör att gästerna somnar till det lugnande ljudet av mild vågning. De två kompletta badrummen är utrustade på spa-liknande sätt, med en stor djupt badkar och uppvärmda golv. Med det 2: a och 3: e loft sovrummen båda utrustade med drottning sängar - och en bäddsoffa i ett privat hörn av loftet - Cedarwood kan bekvämt sova 8 vuxna.

Utanför sitter en uteplats på stranden upphöjd precis ovanför kullerstensstranden. En pro-stil gasgrill gör det enkelt att laga mat och samla utomhus. Så lika idylliskt som Cedarwood Cottage är själva stugan bara början ...

Cedarwood ligger i hjärtat av den mest legendariska och spektakulära delen av hela North Shore. Bortsett från några få privata paket mark längs Superior Shore, ligger Cedarwood i huvudsak mitt i orörda Cascade State Park. Hundratals miles av Sawtooth bergspår (vandring på sommaren, längdåkning och snö mobil på vintern) är tillgängliga precis utanför ytterdörren till stugan. Cascade Lodge & Restaurant är en enkel 1 mil promenad och har bra mat, drycker och ofta livemusik. En spår som leder till Cascade Falls ligger inom 1/4 kilometer från Cedarwoods dörr! Och inom en 30 minuters bilresa är allt som North Shore är känt tillgängligt ... vandring i världsklass, fiske, kajakpaddling, cykelleder, skidåkning, gallerier, restauranger, NorthHouse Folk School och en levande scen för levande musik. Painted Rock sitter trots allt i hjärtat av Cook County och Grand Marais - som nyligen utsågs till den "coolaste lilla staden i Amerika"!

We had a lovely stay. The house was exactly as pictured online. It was amazing being right on the water and falling asleep with the windows open to the sound of the waves. The hosts were incredibly helpful. Everything was beautifully designed and arranged, inside and out. The landscaping was so lovely and appropriate for the area.

Serenity with a view

Comfortable, clean, spacious, with high-end finishes and thoughtful touches everywhere you look. The property really is only steps to the shore—perfect for a peaceful retreat. The large windows make the most of the stunning lake view, and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds visiting the well-placed feeder. I hope to visit again sometime!

Quiet family time

Relaxing and comfortable North Shore stay

We spent a wonderful week at Cedarwood Hollow. The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The patio, fire pit, and beach were spectacular. Such a relaxing and peaceful location. We already booked our return stay!

North Shore Serenity

This was our second stay at Cedarwood and it was just as perfect as the first time. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. The kids spent most of their time looking for cool rocks along the lake shore. What a beautiful place to find peace for a few days.

Gal Pals Holiday

The four gal pals have been visiting the North Shore regularly since 1976 (of course that dates us but also makes us very knowledgeable)! We always stay in private homes that offer privacy and seclusion. Cedarwood Hollow offered not only privacy but was beautifully appointed, featuring quality bed and bath linens. For chef wanna bes, the kitchen was perfect with all of the accoutrements of home Access to the patio and beach was just steps away from the side door. Regrettably, the weather did not cooperate and we had to spend our times indoors enjoying a warm fire much to our delight If yo are reading this and are looking for a wonderful place in which to spend quiet time on the big water, I highly recommend Cedarwood Hollow Sharon O’

Birthday / Mother’s Day getaway

We enjoyed our stay and experience at the property and the nearby hiking trails. The northern lights on Saturday night were fabulous and the cabin is so comfortable with its rustic elegance and sunrise views of Lake Superior. We enjoyed every minute. Perfect

Staying on superior in the midst of winter is not everyone’s cup of tea, But we love the wild lovely lake in all seasons, staying in a beautiful cottage is the secret, and this one is absolutely lovely, with beautiful amenities and an incredible setting. Loved it!

Perfect Lakefront Cabin

We stayed here for our annual girls ski weekend, unfortunately it was too cold and windy to ski. But that was okay because it was so fun to spend time at the beautiful cabin! The location is great, near lots of local attractions. Strongly recommend AWD, our vehicles had no problems but glad to have it. The fireplace was a huge bonus and we loved having a fire every night! Plenty of linens, towels, etc. Kitchen was gorgeous. We hope to be back!

Balm for Your Soul

Cedarwood Hollow is a magical place. Lake sounds fill your ears and clear your mind. The cabin has been so thoughtfully laid out and decorated. Every light switch is labelled. The appliances are top notch. The kitchen is exactly how you'd want your own laid out. Open and inviting. Our family flowed from space to space easily and naturally as conversations flowed. Great cuddling couch. Perfect table for puzzles with views of the lake everywhere. We can't wait to go back. (Spoiler alert - --we already booked 3 additional stays for the coming year!!)

as close as you can get to Lake Superior w/o diving in

Our group of 8 adults (a tight but doable squeeze sleep-wise) had an incredible time here! The views are stunning, and the kitchen is open, large, and can handle a big group. You won't want to leave the house, but Grand Marais and many hikes await you a short drive away. It was such a gift to have the stony shoreline accessible by a short walk out the door--we spent every sunrise outside. Plenty of firewood was provided, but more can be requested. Communication with the owner was easy and responsive. Loved every minute.

Family trip to Cedarwood

We have been coming to the north shore for many years and brought the whole family this trip. We all had a wonderful time and were very comfortable with the accommodations. We cooked in the beautiful kitchen, enjoyed tub soaks and played games. The shore provided us much enjoyment watching the waves, rock hunting and star gazing that never disappoints. We also enjoyed hiking, waterfalls and fall color. We will miss falling asleep to the sound of the waves and look forward to another return trip.

Super Superior Time

Fantastic place for extended family (3 generations) stay. Really enjoyed the spacious great-room with awesome views of Superior, just steps away, on the days when the weather was "North-Shorey", as well as the perfect outdoor dining/fire-pit area on warm sunny days (and nights, when we spent many hours, sometimes between 2-4 AM, watching the Persied meteors). We really appreciated that the adjacent foliage is kept trimmed so as to not obstruct the view. Loved the beach ("right there") for collecting perfect stones for rock painting (we left a few around for surprises) and for building cairns.

Incredible Vacation Spot!

We had the most amazing time celebrating my MIL's 70th birthday, along with my husband and our family! What a location! Spent many evenings around the fire making s'mores and many mornings drinking coffee and skipping rocks on the lake shore just steps away from the front door. It was the most beautiful setting with the moonlight pouring into the large dinning room window during dinner! Oh the beds!! They were lovely, clean and comfortable! We will be back! Thank you again for the lovely stay!

Fabulous cabin on Lake Superior

Our family (me,wife, college daughter) spent four nights on the first leg of our North Shore journey. Absolutely beautiful cabin which is wonderful place to gather after a day of hiking, kayaking or exploring Grand Marais. Listening to the waves of Lake Superior all night was so peaceful. Host was phenomenal to work with from start to end.
