The apartment was new, clean and comfortable. We were able to order breakfast, lunch for delivery by a cafe used by City lion which was convenient. It's easy to walk to surrounding areas, shops, restaurants. We arrived at night and there is no parking near the building. Team member Chrissa was very helpful and lovely. She went with me to a car park a few minutes from the building and even went back with me a second time after I realised I had left my phone in the carpark.

Unfortunately, we only stayed one night. The staff member we dealt with (Chryssa??) was amazing and went above and beyond for us. She turned what could have been a negative experience in Heraklion mostly positive. Assisted us with a horrible vehicle rental return and got a a dinner reservation at a great restaurant. Arranged a taxi for the morning. Accommodations were great. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful modern apartments
Really beautiful, modern apartments and the staff were really great. Plus it had a really helpful app. The closest parking lot isn’t far, but you do have to wind through some cobbled streets, so just be prepared if you have luggage. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back!

Great hotel in a perfect location!
I travelled with a friend and our accommodations were very clean and comfortable and located just a very short walk to the centre of restaurants and shopping. It was very safe to walk around the area. We parked our car in a garage about a 10 min walk away and had absolutely no issues with parking. The managers of the hotel are very kind and accommodating people and we would definitely choose this hotel again!

My family's experience at the City Gate was nothing short of excellent. The rooms are meticulously clean, well designed and spacious. The two staff we interacted with (Karissa and Manos) are both exceptionally attentive and accommodating. The location is excellent and is about a 3 min walk to all the restaurants and shops. Hands down the best hotel that I've stayed at in all of Greece.

Appartamento per 4 persone con 2 stanze separate, 2 bagni, soggiorno con cucina a vista e 2 balconi. Struttura in ottime condizioni, molto recente. Accoglienza top. Personale sempre disponibile e gentile. In appartamento, oltre a tutto quanto necessario, troviamo acqua in figo e caffè. Praticamente a 20 metri inizia la zona pedonale con negozi, ristoranti e monumenti (Fontana Morosini a 3 minuti). Location perfetta e anche tranquilla.

We stayed for three nights at this phenomenal hotel as a family of 4. So modern and clean. Spacious and lots of high end amenities from a Nespresso machine to toiletries. Beds are comfortable. Great housekeeping service. Perfect location to pedestrian pathways for shopping and dining in the centre of Heraklion. Fantastic customer service and recommendations from property management with special thank you to Effie and Manos for their hospitality.

Wow, this hotel. Our room had a spiral staircase leading up to a 2nd bedroom, a full kitchen, 3 balconies! Excellent location too, just minutes away from Lion Square and a ton of restaurant options. Christos the owner is very nice and helpful.

Property is very modern and comfortable. Plenty of space for a family of four. The concierge was lovely, booked our taxi to the airport for the next day. Worked like clock-work. This is the heart of the city, so parking is hard and navigating the tiny streets not easy. But, lots of stuff is walking distance. Hands down 5 stars,

We loved all of the features, the decor was beautiful and modern. The rooms had everything we needed and were very close to the main tourist area of downtown Heraklion. It was very easy to get to the ferry port the morning we checked out, it was only about 5 mins away by car. Perfect for our family 4.

My wife and I stayed three nights at this wonderful property. Our unit was modern, immaculate, and well appointed. It included a wrap around balcony and two floors (although we only needed the main floor). The price was right and it was located a few minutes away from the Venetian Morosini fountain and lively shopping area. Communication with the proprietors was easy...they responded to emy and were onsite during office hours. There were some terrific restaurants nearby serving tasty meals at a reasonable price. We would stay here again when we revisit Iraklion.

Immediate area around the hotel is a bit residential but very close (250 meters) to Morosoni fountain which is a more tourist-friendly area with excellent food and streetwise shopping. Close to waterfront (0.5km) with an excellent boardwalk. Apartment was modern, spacious and well appointed. Loved the two story setup of the two bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The balconies were nice with views of the water. Amenities were pretty good, except for the lack of a microwave. Stove was a bit tricky to figure out. No breakfast provided but close to restaurants and grocery stores / super markets. Apartment office communicated well over messaging, but the office itself is only staffed during business hours which was a bit inconvenient.

This place is such an amazing find. The apartment is super modern, clean, and stylish. It is a two minute walk to central areas with excellent food and shopping. There is a great coffee shop right out the door. The staff obliged everything we asked for or needed. There is quite a bit of street noise until late at night so it might not be the best option for light sleepers, but in Europe, that is the prive of being very close by the city center.

The kind and helpful people at the CityLion apartments office made our stay in Heraklion a dream come true! Super friendly and SO competent!! A BIG thank you to Effie and Chryssa for always responding to any questions with a big smile and a can-do attitude! These guys are so genuine and incredibly nice and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy! The property is very central to amazing dining and shopping, but at the same time in a wonderfully quiet and safe neighborhood. Everything was super clean and new! The daily housekeeping was a bonus! Book City Lion for your stay in Heraklion and you won’t ever regret it!

Wonderful space near city center. Only 3 apartments for floor and they are in great condition - very modern. The staff on site were very helpful, nice and attentive. They always made sure that i had enough coffee! :)

The hotel was very modern and had a very welcoming feel. The whole place was bright and comfortable. the room had everything you could need with a well fantastic kitchen and sitting area. The bathroom was superb and the bedroom was fantastic and the bed was so comfortable. The air conditioning was nearly silent which was great. The hotel is very close to everything you need and the lady that welcomed us to the hotel was very helpful. What a fantastic hotel.

Simply the best. The studio (with an unexpected beautiful back patio) was clean and tastefully decorated, with all the stuff eqipped (pots, pans, cups, toaster, espresso machine etc). It's located a short distance from Lion's Fountain, right in the middle of everything. It's very quite without much street noise. The best part is our host, Chris. What a great, polite, helpful and hospitable host. He gave us a lot of useful information when we checked in. When we ran into a problem with our bus tickets to Chania, he personally went to the bus station and got it sorted out. Every question we had he responded right away. All this happened during Greek long Labor day weekend. We simply can't thank you enough, Chris! Highly highly recommend this place.

Apartment of the future in the middle of everythin
Don’t even bother reading my review. Just click book. Staying here was unbelievable. I almost didn’t believe my eyes, that I had the right place. It’s incredible: brand new, great square footage, ridiculous amenities, and the reception man was very very kind to us. I wish I could live here. When I saw the room and the building, I deeply deeply regretted that I was only here for two days. Out of the 5+ places I’ve stayed in Greece, this is BY FAR the best, and all those places got great reviews from me too! I wish I could give this place 15/10 because when you are exhausted from your trip and come to this hotel, you feel human again. Thank you city lion.

Fantastique logement dans le centre ville
L'appartement City Lion (Studio 1er étage) est tout juste sublime et confortable ! Logement moderne, neuf et trés bien aménagé et décoré. Spacieux, avec cuisine équipée, balcon, chambre qui s'isole par des panneaux coulissants, et belle salle de bain. Situation géographique optimale et accueil parfait.
