Vistades 5 nätter under lågsäsong. Praktiskt läge när man kommer från flygplatsen. Lätt att hitta. Fin utsikt över Chania bukten i kvällssol. Ffa från terrassen.Vänlig personal, mkt informativ ägarinna (?). Grekisk frukost = tråkig. Fin pool, ca 18 m, bra för morgonsim. (?)

Till eller från flygplatsen.
Bra läge när man kommer från flygplatsen sent och inte ska köra vidare förrän dagen därpå. Fin frukostbuffe och mycket trevlig personal. Krävs bil för att ta sig till en restaurang, finns en grill för enklare snabbmat intill hotellet.

Fantastiska ägare, lugnt och allt finns
Mycket för pengarna, mellan flygplatsen och Chania med goda bussförbindelser till staden, strand och flyget. Vi åkte buss till staden på kvällen och låg vid den lugna poolen på dagen. Affär 20 m bort, även bageri och butik med enkel god mat som gyros. Flera midags restauranger på gångavstånd. De gör även viss mat själva, helt ok frukost och fantastiskt trevliga hjälpsamma ägare. Fasta sängar är det enda negativa vi kan hitta, mycket hotell för pengarna speciellt för dig som hyr bil eller är villig att ta buss.

What a gem
A lovely stay. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Lovely size balcony with a lovely view overlooking the pool and down towards the sea and Chania. Brilliant pool area with loungers, Good choice at breakfast very tasty. Great friendly hosts would stay again if returning to the area

Greek Hospitality
First off, this hotel is in one of the most perfect locations in Chania. There is a bus stop within walking distance from it, and it takes 10-15 minutes to get downtown. The hotel staff made me feel so welcomed and comfortable throughout my entire stay. I will be back in Chania and I will be staying here again. Highly recommended.

Best welcome!
We arrived late but given such a warm welcome - along with welcome drinks brought to the 2nd floor deck. That attitude continued throughout our 2 night stay. Our room was spacious, clean, great a/c. We enjoyed the pool both days. Breakfast had lots of options. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel close to Chania Airport
We had a short stay here while exploring the West side of Crete. We were able to check in late (fortunately its quite close to the airport), the breakfast was good and had a great variety, and we enjoyed the pool. Cell reception was not great but the wifi helped make up for that. We decided to eat by the pool and tried the gyros pizza- it was amazing (so much so we decided to stop by and order it again before flying out of Crete). The staff and owner were very nice and accommodating.

Very friendly staff
This is an excellent hotel. We stayed for three nights and the best thing was the staff- being a family run business the staff was small. Helen was exceptionally amiable and warm and made the stay. On arrival. she greeted us with a mass of maps and plans, recommendations on where to go, eat etc. She was also kind enough to upgrade our rooms for free, as well as allow us to checkout at any time. The rest of the family were equally as friendly. I recommend this hotel to any holiday makers.

The calm before the storm
Nice relaxing location with easy bus access to the centre of chania. Also easy access to stavros beach which was great with convenient lounger service for drinks, snacks etc. This part of our holiday was to charge the batteries for the second part with our very active 3yo grandson. We had a great time

Relaxing and friendly family environment
Eleni and all the staff at Monte Vardia could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Right from when we made the booking in March, Eleni provided really excellent and helpful advice to help with our preparations. Our stay was very relaxing, and the hotel accommodated any and every request with a smile. The food was great - quite a basic breakfast bar, but still sufficient choice, and the option of fresh Greek yoghurt or eggs and bacon, all freshly prepared. Lunch and dinner dishes were all excellent, with no disappointments on quality or quantity. The hotel is a little outside Chania, so a hire car is recommended. But its location makes it peaceful, and there are fabulous views over Chania town and beyond. Some of the fixtures and fittings in the hotel seem a little dated, but that didn't matter at all. The pool was fabulous, never crowded and always clean.

Very nice place to stay
The hotel staff, at front desk, in the restaurant or elsewhere are sincerely friendly and helpfull. They really made us feel welcome. Our hotelroom was comfortable, spacious and clean. The breakfast is very good with a wide range of choices. Eggs, are made freshly every morning, just the way you want them. You can enjoy your breakfast inside the restaurant or outside in the shade next to the swimming pool. The second floor has a communal terrace with a great view over Chania and the sea.

Quiet hotel, exceptional staff
We stayed at this lovely hotel for 11 nights and it was pure relaxation. It's away from the crowds of chania town so unless you hire a car then it's a good walk to most places. Eleni and her family are the most wonderful hosts and made us feel so very welcome. This hotel comes highly recommended on all counts

Un excellent séjour
Accueil très chaleureux. Accès en ville, aux plages et à la route nationale aisés. Vue magnifique de notre chambre sur la baie de Hania. Une vaste terrasse est aussi disponible pour tout le monde avec cette vue. La contrepartie de celle-ci, c'est un emplacement sur un axe passant en surplomb de la ville. Service en chambre de bonne qualité. Une grande et très belle piscine, pas envahie par les touristes qui y squattent toute la journée. Un hôtel d'un excellent rapport qualité prix pour visiter durant quelques jours Hania et l'ouest de la crête.

Great Location about 10 min ride to Olde Town and less than 15 min to airport. Very friendly and helpful staff who helped me plan a do yourself hike of Sameria Gorge. Our room was immaculately clean and even had a tub in the bathroom. Very large swimming pool in great surroundings with trees for shade. Breakfast was wonderful and extensive and the hotel was a great value. My wife and I definitely look forward to a return visit.

Nice family hotel 10 minutes from airport
Stayed just for 1 night after late arrival to Chaniá airport. Were welcomed nicely with bottles of water and little snacks for the kids in the room. The owner showed us a few nice cafes around which would be open till 3-4am! Probably would not stay there for a long time as it is in a quiet location, but it's perfect for 1-2 nights stay if you want to be 10 minutes from the airport, bur still enjoy Cretan hospitality!

Un grand plaisir de séjourner à l'hôtel Monte Vardia. Bien situé sur les hauteurs de la Canée, l'hôtel est sympathique avec une belle piscine et très bien tenu. Bon prtit dej complet avec omelette, yaourt au miel,... Mention spéciale à la responsable qui est charmante. Des petites attentions et beaucoup de bienveillance. On s'y sent très bien.

Per noi un piacevole ritorno.
Vista la prima positiva esperienza,fatta nel 2009,abbiamo deciso di tornare in questa struttura. L'hotel è situato su una collina a circa 3 km da Chania,dotato di una grande piscina,parcheggio privato. Le camere da noi utilizzate erano arredare con gusto e dotate di aria condizionata e wi fi gratuito,cassaforte e frigo. Quando la propietaria,Eleni,ha saputo che il nostro era un ritorno ci ha fatto trovare in camera un cestino di frutta e alla nostra partenza una scatola di dolcetti locali. Al quarto piano è presente una terrazza comune con vista sulla città,molto gradevole al tramonto. Colazione nella norma,migliorabile,ma superiore agli standard greci (uova fritte con bacon fatte fresche a richiesta e spremuta d'arancia fatta al momento). Personale molto educato e disponibile. Se in possesso d'auto,vivamente consigliato.

Utrolig fint hotell med bra utsikt. Fin familie hotell, og anbefaler på det sterkeste! De som jobber der hjelper deg hvis du skal til Chania Town og andre steder. Det er rent, bra frokost og basseng. Det som er bra, er at buss stasjonen er rett ved siden av hotellet! Utrolig bra hotell, anbefaler på det sterkeste :D

Great choice!
Great choise for our family! The hotel was perfect for our needs: clean, peaceful atmosphere and good and clean pool ( our 3 children can swim well). Breakfast was good, family room was nice for 5 persons, beds were hard enough and most of all: beautifull view over Hania. The staff was great and spoke good English. The hotel is situated by "main street" which causes a little noice, but it didn't bothered us. There is small activity park for children just opposite to the hotel, 5 euros/ child. We rented a car for 6 days and that was worth of it (165e). We saw well the western part of Crete. It was great week in Crete! Viikon loma Kreetalla onnistui täydellisesti: hotelli henkilökuntineen oli ihana. Aamiainen oikein hyvä ja sängyt tarpeeksi kovat, maisemat 2. Kerrokesta huikeat! Puhdas miljöö ja rauhallinen olemus miellytti meidän perhettämme. Erityisesti uima-allas oli kolmelle uimataitoiselle lapsellemme luksusta. Auto kannattaa vuokrata, koska hotelli sijaitsee muutaman km päässä keskustasta. Auton vuokra oli 6 päivältä 165 e, joten ei paha. Länsi-Kreetaa tulikin hyvin nähtyä, viikoksi riittää hyvin katseltavaa. Hyvä valinta aktiiviselle porukalle!

Hyggeligt familiehotel nær Chania
Et hyggeligt hotel med meget opmærksomt personale. De gør, hvad de kan for den enkelte gæst, og vil meget gerne hjælpe med hvad som helst. Et par gange nåede vi ikke en gang at spørge, før vi fik informationer om f.eks. bussen ind til Chania. Det er næsten som at være indkvarteret hos en privat familie. Vil du bo lidt udenfor byen og ikke har noget imod at tage bussen til byen og stranden, så er dette hotel perfekt. Vi skal klart bo her igen, hvis vi rejser tilbage til området.

Il primo impatto non è stato dei migliori però una volta adattati devo dire che ci siamo trovati benissimo il personale gentilissimo, le stanze pulite, la colazione abbastanza buona, un hotel sicuramente consigliato anche per la posizione, la piscina usata poco ma molto bella, sinceramente ve lo consiglio anche per i prezzi contenuti.

Western Crete Holiday
The most enjoyable aspects of staying at this hotel were the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners (it's a family run hotel). They went out of their way to help us with a problem that arose with a hire car and provided all the information we needed to explore locally and more widely in Western Crete. We stayed on a B&B basis. Good aspects of breakfast were hot food cooked to order, fresh yoghurt, fresh orange juice and ample fresh coffee. The hotel is easily reached from Chania airport but a bit too far from the centre of Chania to walk in and so it's probably best to have a hire car. We used the hotel as a base for touring but the large, uncrowded swimming pool was excellent for relaxation and the views from our room balcony over Chania Bay and the mountains were lovely. There is some road noise during the day, as the hotel is just off a busy road, but we didn't find this a problem at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought the hotel represented excellent value for money.

We have enjoyed our stay very much. The area is quiet, so if you want to be closed to the action, you have to drive or take a cab (about 7-8 Euro). The staff is great and very very helpful.
