“The staff were all nice enough and some of them really stood out in terms of customer service. The rugs in our room were filthy. There were several bulbs out in the bathroom. Why would there be no light for the makeup mirror when the lighting of the bathroom is so dim? The restaurant only opens for dinner and only on some nights. ”

“Love the Shinola design and was very excited to stay here - but will not return. Dont get me wrong, the design of the room was great and the check in was friendly and a glass of bubbly was received. The films telling about brand, materials, design etc was great to watch. Comfortable bed. But the cleaning between the days was so poor and had dust in the corners and mold in the "zink hole". Don't even think the pillows were fluffed between the days. The beautiful Shinola alarm clock showed wrong...

“I was very happy with my stay at Sonder. The location was great; walkable distance to everything I wanted to see. Having all the amenities of a studio apartment really helped me to save money by being able to cook and store food. The only slight complaint is that it could have been a little bit cleaner; but I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Detroit!”

“A very charming hotel. The hotel was in a perfect location if you want to walk to enjoy Red wings at the Little Caesars Arena. The room was a bit small to fit a family of 4 with suitcases. However we really enjoyed the hotel and the bar. The coffee in the morning was excellent.”

“Stayed one night for a concert close by. Hotel was spotless, new, clean, great. Location is awesome, could not have been more convenient. Staff was great, helpful and friendly. We will stay again but there are a couple quirks. You basically have to use the valet to park and it is $48 a night (expensive), know that because it is not clearly stated and is the only real parking option. Had high expectations !

"Love the Shinola design and was very excited to stay here - but will not return. Dont get me wrong, the design of the room was great and the check in was friendly and a glass of bubbly was received. The films telling about brand, materials, design etc was great to watch. Comfortable bed. But the cleaning between the days was so poor and had dust in the corners and mold in the "zink hole". Don't even think the pillows were fluffed between the days. The beautiful Shinola alarm clock showed wrong time (1 hour) and be prepared to wait very long if you having breakfast in house. It did not live up to expectations and there are plenty of other hotels out there I rather try next time. But location is great, value for money less."
