Welcome to OCEAN HOUSE I 1301, a beautifully updated 3-bedroom, 3-bath condo on the Gulf Shores beachfront. Enjoy sliding glass doors from the living area and master bedroom opening to an oversized balcony with breathtaking ocean views. Bedrooms are equipped with new linens, flat-screen TVs, and comfortable bedding. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, ready for family meals. Outside, relax in the resort-style zero-entry pool (heated in the winter months!), let the kids play in the kiddie pools, or stroll to the beach using convenient ramps and showers. Overall, our stay was fine. The property is older, so it is expected that things are likely not going to be in perfect condition. The pool area is decent but definitely needs work to clean it up. There could be a better description of what to expect upon arrival, including clear instruction to stop at the little white building upon entry to make sure you get wristbands and parking passes. Yes there are signs but it would be good to include it in the check in details, too.The condo was decent: no bugs or overtly dirty items. However, there was a smell throughout our stay that seemed to be coming from the sinks, almost like backed up plumbing. The bathroom sink was slow to drain and the kitchen sink had a garbage disposal that smelled absolutely terrible. Aside from the smell, the condo had the main surfaces wiped down upon arrival but not much else was done to clean it. Baseboards were nasty looking (and no, I’m not the type to inspect with a white glove or anything like that), walls had dirt on them, handles to the kitchen pantry and laundry looked absolutely filthy, the closet where the trash can was located in the kitchen looked like it had never been vacuumed or cleaned, and just general lack of any type of deep clean for what appears to be an extended amount of time.Again, not terrible and we still had a nice time but not sure I could recommend this to a friend.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but...

It was obvious the place is aging and in need of a good remodel. The funiture was fine, no issues there, but lots of little cosmetic issues all over seem to be building up. I did see 3-4 cockroaches in the kitchen while we were there, in the mornings while cooking, which was probably the worst part, but they scurried away and were not an issue for us, but I would not advise anyone to leave food out overnight... We were contacted our second day there to see if they could "show" the unit as it is apparently up for sale. I declined as it seemed inappropriate to interrupt our paid visit there with a showing. *shrug*. Overall we had a good visit, but we'll take our chances with a new unit next time and wouldn't return to this one. Price should probably be lower since there's some issues...

Not well kept

We were disappointed in the maintenance of the property. Broken dishes/glasses, rusty utensils, 3 broken lamps, peeling paint, cracked tiles, water on fridge shelves, dirt on ceilings from vents, filthy rugs, cheap unmatched patio furniture, roaches. We contacted property manager about a patio table as shown in the description. The owner was not interested in providing one. We checked out 3 days early.

Amazing

My family loves Gulf Shores Beach and Ocean House has been a very good location for all of us, with the big pool and being right on the beach. Everything is well maintained and fits our family comfortably. Booking via VRBO and with Sunset Properties was clear, simple and professional. The follow up communication between us with email and text was very nice and appreciated to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Thank you!

Nice stay

We had 4 adults staying in the condo. Plenty of room. Very clean when we arrived. Had issues with WiFi and tried to contact owner with no response. Luckily we were on vacation and not working so we got by. Nice location on ocean front. Had fun playing in the waves.
