We have stayed at Island Towers two other times and have loved everything about it but as soon as we walked in this room it quickly became apparent that this unit was a disappointment. Sticky floors, dirty counters, food in a kitchen cabinet, wet towel over the shower curtain, folded damp towels in the master bath (used and refolded or just not fully dried?), old mattresses and even older bedding, two dining room chairs had broken backs making them unusable, one wall of windows in the main living area had brackets for curtains but no curtains, NO FURNITURE on either deck, and the worst surprise was found as I made the bed the next morning- a pair of underwear in the sheets!
A cleaning crew was sent on Sunday to clean the floors and bring fresh towels but sheets were not changed. The rental company came to the unit with brand new outdoor furniture on Monday.
We have vacationed in Gulf Shores for 30+ years and have never stayed in a unit so badly neglected.
We were grateful to receive new deck furniture so that we could enjoy sitting on the deck but were never offered even a slight refund. Having spent what we did for the week we feel some compensation should have been made. Needless to say, we would not recommend staying in this unit.
