We absolutely treasured our stay at Southern Palms Cottage! Becky was so incredibly kind and easy to communicate with if needed; we really felt at home at such a special place! The space was perfect for our family (my husband and I, our 11 mos. and 5 yr. old kiddos, and grandparents)- we had all that we needed and more already there and appreciated access to pool toys, a beach wagon, kayak, paddle boards, and canoe. We divided our time between the pool (so enjoyed the size), the beach (super short walk away) and pier (we loved the swings and watching the fish jump- even caught a few!). We loved being away from the crowds but close enough to run to town or within 20-30 min of some amazing food. We have made so many memories and really enjoyed this vaca- we would love to come back! Don’t hesitate on this one!

Our family have been going to Gulf Shores since 2013 and this house has now been marked our all time favorite! Spacious, beautiful, comfortable home with the convenience of a private pool, little lagoon AND ocean/beach just a few steps away. We will definitely be booking this one again! When I tell you that this vacation was perfect, I absolutely mean every single word of it!! We literally did not want to leave! The house was amazing, the location was spot on and it was as if we had our own private beach. The pier was such a plus and kept my teenage grandsons off their phones. I hate to wish my life away, but we cannot wait until next year. Oh, and Becky is the best!!! So responsive to everything that we needed. You will not be disappointed booking this little piece of paradise!

Perfect

his home was the perfect Gulf Shores getaway! Located just off the main strip, it offered a peaceful retreat while still being close to everything. The short walk to beach access was super convenient, and the beach itself was quiet and never crowded, such a gem!We especially loved the dock, we fished every evening and the fish were biting like crazy! The private pool was also a huge plus, especially since there were a lot of jellyfish in the ocean during our stay.The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation spot!

Perfect for family

Had the time of our lives!

We loved everything about this property. The location was great being outside the busier parts and the houses had great space between. The pool and fishing pier were a hit for our group. Someone was out on the pier every night and we caught a lot of fish! The space inside the home was beautiful and plenty of room for the amount of us. There were eleven of us total and actually we made the sunroom a bedroom. And I have to mention the beach access was awesome. And we felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Not many people on that part of the beach.We loved it so much we hope to make it a tradition to come to this house every year. I am actually booking again for next summer soon! Thank you so much for renting out your beautiful piece of paradise!

Family vaca

The house was clean and so nice! The pool was amazing to have, while also having access to the lagoon and being across from ocean access. They had all of the amenities needed to stay, even with a 6 month old. Would definitely recommend!

Awesome family vacation rental!

Too much to say about this beach house! Plenty of room and super clean. Perfect area for relaxing at the pool. So much available to do just at the house. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and a quite beach right across the street. Fabulous house and perfect hosts!

Peaceful accommodations for the whole family

Peace, laughter, and room to dance in the kitchen/great room. I relaxed on the sun porch for morning coffee. Beach time and pool time as well as a lagoon beach kept our family busy and happy. This was an amazing property and made for a great vacation for our family. We really enjoyed the large pool and pool area as well as the spacious living room and kitchen for our group of 10. Communication with the host was easy and they provide lots of amenities such as kayaks, a canoe, paddle boards, cornhole boards, beach gear and an ice maker. Fishing was good in the lagoon and from the beach. The water is very shallow by the dock And most of the lagoon so unless looking for pinfish and other small fish plan on using a kayak or canoe to get out another 150 yds into the lagoon to catch redfish or trout. The property was very clean and it was nice to be located on the lagoon with the bonus of close beach access. Being a few miles away from gulf shores was a plus as most days the beach was very empty and the area was peaceful. We will definitely look at staying here again if we can come back to the area.

Spring Break at the Bay

It was fabulous, plenty of space for the 9 of us. Huge island for food and prep, with plenty of bathrooms. Pretty much whatever you need they have it there for you. Pool was great for the kids especially when the weather wasn’t favorable for the beach. Close walk to the beach, great swings at the bay to take in the breeze and sunset, we would definitely return!!

Great trip!

To start, communication with property manager was great. From check in to check out, they were super informative and responsive. They monitored pool heat temperature closely and let us know when they saw a problem (pool low on water)…let us know what to do and even called pool technician out to inspect. Property is as described and seen on the posting. Kids (and adults) loved the bay beach…tons of little wild life for the kids to observe. Kayaking was a blast…just be wary if it gets windy out. Walk to the beach was a breeze and essentially felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. Open house concept was awesome for general entertainment. The pool setup is a huge highlight…huge pool, great temperature control during Spring. Rreak time, no complaints. Location is a bit remote (plan for 15-30 minute commute to get to most local restaurants/entertainment)… the property is so peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend this place!

Amazing Getaway

We stayed at the most amazing home. Wonderful quiet neighborhood, beautiful views, close to everything, wonderful owner who communicated frequently, clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, best getaway ever. The only issue is that the pool heater is not heating as well as it should but the owner is aware and working to correct it.

Wonderful home!

We booked this very last minute due to being evacuated from our vacation in Cape San Blas and we were not disappointed!! The pictures depicted the house just as it is! The kitchen and living area were perfect for our 2 families. The pool is the largest we've had with a vacation rental! The owner, Ms. Becky, was very quick to respond and extremely welcoming! Highly recommend this property!

Amazing and Relaxing Vacation

Everything about this vacation home is above expectations. The home is so clean and beautifully decorated, offering plenty of space, amenities, and comfort. The kitchen is huge and has EVERYTHING you could think to need. Bedrooms are just right and the beds are very comfortable. The pool is perfect. Pictures don’t do it justice, because you don’t realize how big it is until you see it for yourself. My absolute favorite is the dock on Little Lagoon where we watched the most beautiful sunsets. There are also kayaks, paddleboards, and a canoe, to explore the lagoon. We did not use these during our stay because I was a little intimidated by the size of the lagoon. A much more experienced and confident kayaker would definitely appreciate these extras! The walk to the beach was short, but made even easier using the wagon on property. We always bring our own beach chairs, but this home has plenty of chairs, towels, and umbrellas for a beach visit. I can’t say enough about the host, Becky. She is so attentive, communicative, and pleasant. She really wants you to feel like you’re home. Becky, thank you so much for sharing this most amazing place with us! This home is definitely on my short list of places I MUST visit again.

Fabulous Vacation

Everyone enjoyed the pool, especially the kids! A short walk to the beach, which this time of year we pretty much had to ourselves. The house was beautiful with plenty of room for our family of 9. One of the best vacations in the books, highly recommend.
