No view of Guntersville Lake

Very disappointed upon arrival of not having a view as pictures showed. The only way to see the view is to go up a steep and rugged hill. Parking and entry was great. Cabin was clean. Nice fireplace but no fire tools. Found a utensil unde the sink that appeared to have been used for the same purpose. As far as direct access or walk to the lake, not sure. Didn't find that. The airport is adjacent to this property with a tall fence all around the lake on the entrance side of this property. We would have called to complain, requested refund and left if it had not been our anniversary. Needless to say, we won't be back to this property.

Kudzu Cove, Fisherman's Retreat

We love this property so much we extended our stay and wound up staying an entire week. The cabin was perfect. It's better than the pictures. The property is very pretty and well maintained. There are several cabins and two fishing ponds. Hubby caught several bass and I caught a bunch of bream. There is an awesome little bird sanctuary and walking trails. We met the owner one day (as he was emptying our outdoor trash, lol). He told us about a certain trail with a little cabin. We got there and it was a nice little room built into the side of a hill with windows all around, a deck and a fire pit. Unexpectedly, there were two recliners in there. So, we actually took a little nap! Kudzu Cove is also a Disc Golf course. There were people playing nearly every day. It was very fascinating to watch. Everyone was very quiet and polite. Honestly, I would have been happy just staying there on the property and "playing house" in this relaxing little retreat. But the town of Guntersville and the lake were very nice. Good restaurants too. We particularly liked Top of the River. There are some very nice shops and antique shops in town also. And, of course the lake is amazing. The whole area is just beautiful. Rolling hills and the pretty lake. I know I'm gushing, but I can't tell you how nice it was to have such a beautiful retreat to relax and get away from real life for week. We most definetly will be back and probably bring some grandkids with us.
