“Ett hotell med medelmåttig standard. Smidig, digital in och ut-checkning. Lugnt område. Bra gemensamma köksytor men dåligt tryck i duschen drar ner betyget. Mindre livsmedelsbutik och restauranger ca 150m från hotellet. Vill man äta en riktigt god middag så rekommenderar jag Algarve grill och vill man inte laga sin egen frukost så kan jag varmt rekommendera en ”the full delaney” på Delaneys som ligger ca 400m i nordvästlig riktning. ”

“Room was clean, spacious and nicely furnished, modern but in keeping with the age and style of the building. Breakfast was fantastic, with a really nice menu to choose from. All the staff we met were super friendly and helpful. Great location for visiting Soutsea and surrounding area. Would definitely recommend paying the extra for a parking bay at the front of the hotel as street parking could be tricky. We stayed to visit family in Southsea and will definitely use this hotel again!”

“The bed in my first room was dreadful, I found several hairs in the sheets and comfortable as sleeping on the floor. In addition, the hot water did not work in the shower - I felt kind of ripped off - better standard should be expected even though it is an English hotel. After complaining a couple of times they moved me to the family suite which had an descent bed and hot water, which saved my week. The receptionists were always friendly despite my unhappy mood after my first night.”

“My husband and I are Swedes in our mid twenties, and we went to Portsmouth for a weekend getaway. Next time we go to Portsmouth, we will definitely stay at The Clarence again. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was very nice, and being Swedes we really care about the breakfast quality. Try the salmon egg muffin, you won't be disappointed!”
