âFirst sight of the hotel made me think its was a bit run down, outside paint work and car park (that was of a good size) needed some TLC. On going in the Hotel was busy, the 2 staff that where there were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was fine room was ok for me ( bathroom needed to be made over) i was in room 12 facing the road so if you a light sleeper not the best room as you face the main road.

âRummet vi hyrde var mer som en svit. TyvĂ€rr inget sĂ€kerhetsskĂ„p eller möjlighet att sjĂ€lva koka en kopp kaffe eller te. NĂ€ra stationen sĂ„ lĂ€tt för oss att resa med tĂ„g. Buss till Castle Howard tog bara 15 minuter. Restaurangen serverade god mat av modernt stuk.â
âTrevligt bemötande, mysig stĂ€mning i puben men trist "restaurang", maten var OK. Hade önskat en liten sittgrupp i rummet som ju faktiskt var rĂ€tt stort.â

âHad a fantastic experience at Orchard Lodge. Andrew and Lucinda couldnât be any more accommodating. Fantastic service, lovely location and spacious bedrooms.

âA fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy to find with ample car parking at the rear. Warm welcome at reception and friendly efficient service. Room was immaculate and very well maintained. Great nightâs sleep, quiet location and comfortable bed. Breakfast was fab, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and would happily stay there again. Thank you to all the staff at the Mayfield for a very comfortable stay.â

"The reception employees were not service minded during check in and out. I arrived at 11 am and asked about the possibility of early check in (anytime before 15:00 even paid for). The receptionist asked for my name and once I gave it, the reply was No, it's fully booked even though:
- he didn't even check.
- a couple that he helped before me got to check in.
- when I came back in the evening and asked for a floor fan, the evening receptionist said he'd look for any available in the "unoccupied rooms". Concluding that morning receptionist lied and the hotel wasn't actually fully booked. "
