“This was the perfect reward for reaching Tsumago after hiking from Magome on the Nakasendo. Nestled deep among tall trees, this property felt like a hidden sanctuary with its open air onsen, welcoming staff, and superb dining. Amin was exceptionally helpful during our dinner and the front desk went above and beyond to help us navigate an alternate path back to Tokyo after we found out all trains out of Nagiso were cancelled due to rain. We were looking for a room with meals, but left feeling...

“I'm glad I stayed more than one night, otherwise my rewiev had looked differently. My first night was horribel. The family next door was talking loud, stomping, slammed doors and run up down the stairs. Finally 23.30 they got quite. Unfortunately this was the night I had to get up early to walk nakasendo trail. The others night the new neighbours was quiet. And I liked the place. Nice idea with women and men floor. But was mostly men on women floor still. Showers felet safe and i never meet...

“Interesting stay. Had fun lighting the fire and cooking our food over it.”

“We stayed here due to limited hotel options and were not looking for a spa experience, so can't comment on that. The buffet food was OK and the rooms were clean. Fun with ping pong tables and massage chairs.”
