Cozy getaway mins from Michigan Tech, Ski & Snowmobile trails & Lake Superior

Beautiful, 1100sf, remodeled home away from home with over 120ft x 20ft of winter TRAILER parking! Snowmobile trails are only a few short blocks (equal to 1 city block) away and are easily accessible from the house. You can ride your sled to the Hancock/Lake Linden trail. Most often there's snow on the roads. *(Please note in winter months parking is only in the driveway. No street parking) Boasts all the amenities; Central air and heating, 50" TV with Roku, Wifi, bluetooth speaker, comfortable beds and bedding, all new kitchen appliances. Along with the basics, the kitchen includes a microwave, airfryer, blender, hand mixer, toaster oven and electric griddle... everything you need to make a home-cooked meal.
Enjoy coffee from the coffee bar, with a kuerig, traditional coffee pot or French press. An assortment of teas are also provided.
Enter through the back HEATED porch with all you need to store your Winter gear. Plenty of wall hooks, 2 boot dryers/heaters, boot trays and helmet hangers. A perfect place for ski equipment as well. A bonus to be able to put on warm winter gear!
The enclosed front porch is lined with windows, rattan furniture and a ceiling fan....perfect for morning coffee or a cocktail in the warmer months. A sunny day heats it nicely in the winter months.
The two bedooms upstairs have very comfortable mattresses and bedding, luggage racks, dressers and the larger has a closet for hanging clothing. There is a queen murphy bed on the main level in the living area that pulls down for additional sleeping (the same comfortable mattress as the upstairs beds) A pack-n-play is available upon request.
There are 2 full bathrooms, one upstairs with a shower, and one with a tub/shower downstairs. I should mention the water pressure is incredible!! Both bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers for your convenience. Towels, and wash cloths are also provided.
The dining room seats 6 and a high chair is available upon request.
All this and only minutes away from MTU (3.2 miles away), 1.5 miles to Downtown Houghton, 1.4 miles to Downtown Hancock, a few short blocks to Mount Ripley Ski Hill and the Hancock /Lake Linden Snowmobile Trail. Only 46 miles to Copper Harbor, 2.7 miles to the Quincy Mine (a great tour), 11 miles to McClain State Park (Lake Superior beach) and if you're lucky you'll experience the Northern lights from many places just minutes away.

Our stay in Hancock was perfect. The house was spotless. Amenities were great. Host was very friendly and communicated very well. House was very easy to get into with clear directions. It snowed the entire time we were there and while we were at graduation for our son, they came and plowed the driveway. There were even boot driers to use.. Beds were comfortable and had nice sheets. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

This house was perfect for our weekend visit to see our son at Michigan Tech. Jodi has thought of everything! There is a cute coffee /tea station stocked with several varieties of coffee and tea. There are creamers in the fridge along with various condiments and syrup. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, pans and utensils, so you can cook a meal for a family. There is a dishwasher with pods to wash and a full size washer and dryer with detergent. The beds are large and comfortable with new linens and bedding. It was great to have two full bathrooms, one on each floor The house is immaculate and decorated so well. The heated mudroom would be awesome after a day of skiing or snowmobiling. There is a screened-in porch area with a table and chairs in the back yard. The location is minutes from Mont Ripley and the Michigan Tech campus. The neighborhood is super quiet. We look forward to coming back! Jodi was so prompt with communication. It was a wonderful experience.

What an adorable place! So impressed with the decor, welcome treats, newness, nice towels/linens/furniture, games, etc. So many extra touches! Many rentals have pretty pictures but the units are more tattered, but this one is deluxe and it’s clear the hosts have high standards and roll out the red carpet and take care of their guests through all the maintenance and details. Bravo!

We have stayed at many Vrbo’s several places in the US and feel this was the top or best in class. It is very neat and clean and very nicely appointed. It was extremely well stocked. The beds and furniture and linens were all excellent. We would give this place our highest recommendation and congratulate the hosts on their high standards! We heard they worked very hard getting it ready to put on VRBO & their efforts definitely have paid off.

The house is very pretty and comfortable. I liked having the back porch entrance to leave shoes and coats before coming inside. …and it’s very pleasant to sit on the front porch.Everything was super clean and the kitchen is well stocked. We had a great stay while moving my daughter in at Michigan Tech. The house was full of thoughtful amenities that made for a delightful stay. Comfortable beds, well lit rooms, beautiful renovations all around in the house. For snowmobilers take note, the mud room has a heater set to dry off your gear where you hang them on hooks.The kitchen was fully equipped with plenty of dishes and cookware, especially with a Keurig for my ever necessary morning coffee! Full laundry room is available for linger stays. Absolutely loved the shower head upstairs and had to linger a bit under it, especially after move in day on campus! The house is situated on a quiet street overlooking the water. Travel time to campus was about 5-10 mins depending on traffic. If a ship forces the bridge to raise expect a 30 mins depending delay especially like happened to us right at 5pm!All in all we appreciate the comfortable stay and plan to book again when we return.

Jodi and David’s house was the perfect place for us to stay while exploring the Keweenaw Peninsula. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, everything worked as it should, and the house had all we needed without lots of unnecessary clutter. The hosts are top notch! You can tell they spent time considering what extra touches vacationing guests might need. The house is in a quiet neighborhood which we appreciated after busy days.

Thoughtful Details and Exceptional Accommodations

Upon arrival, I was impressed over and over again as I noticed how much thought was put into everything about this adorable and beyond clean home! The home has been recently renovated and quality with attention to detail was not compromised. Somewhat simple, small touches such as luggage racks, high quality bed and bath linens, well equipped kitchen, and clear instructions for all technology and other check in/out procedures made the stay stress free and provided a boutique hotel/ resort feel. We are already looking for another reason to visit the area so we can stay here again! Major kudos to the owners who definitely want you to feel at home and be able to relax!

We stayed here during our son's week at Michigan Teck Hockey Camp. This place and the host are amazing! Very quick and easy communication, amazing place and great location. The host is very punctual and friendly, the house was spotless and very well put together with all the amenities we needed. It is close enough to everything you want to do around there without having to be downtown. We will definitely stay here again!

Upper Penindula Vacation

This home was in a great location to spend time in the Upper Peninsula. We were within driving distance of Copper Harbor, Ontonagon, lighthouses, waterfalls, and state parks The kitchen was well stocked. We loved the entry way of the home where we could set out our supplies for the day before loading up. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet.

This property is so well appointed. It is beyond clean, and wonderfully updated on the interior, too! Lots of areas to sit, relax, play games, unwind...chill...or stay warm! Kitchen was well equipped for our meal prep and serve in the house. Beds were comfee...even the murphy bed was just fine! Bathrooms are spotless and bright!
