This hotel was lovely and offered good breakfast and afternoon tea. The location was good but was right opposite local shops, some of which were quite smelly

A great location in the old city the hotel and staff we would highly recomend. Kylie gave lots of help, advice and organised quality transport to and from the airport. Will certainly use this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay at the San Grand Hotel. The staff could not have been nicer. The location was very walkable in the old quarter and very close to the lake. The included breakfast was very good. They were able to store our large suitcases while we were on a Halong Bay cruise.

Wonderful place to stay if you are looking for an Old Quarter experience. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are good and the location is in the middle of all the action.

Staff Service is Superlative. Specially Kylie who who would do extra 5 star hotel service in a 4 star hotel. We were after Vietnamese culture immersion. It is literally in front of the door. We love staying here for a week. We were here at San Grand hotel Hanoi with my wife, i will come back with my wife and kids next time. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Kylie and San Grand Hotel.

The service and amenities are excellent. The excellent staff helped us solve a Halong Bay booking problem. We only stayed for one night and wanted to extend our stay but they were sold out.

A great location with excellent service. Nice rooms and a delicious breakfast. Anything we needed was immediately provided. We stayed here for 7 days, 3 before and 4 after a Ha Long visit. Would have gladly stayed longer and will come back.

Enjoyable stay in Hanoi and the hotel was close to the majority of the sites. Helpful and friendly staff and my room was spacious enough for a single traveller. Rooftop restaurant had excellent views. Just a shame that the room upgrade was not available. Expedia needs to look into this, as rarely have I been able to take advantage of this supposed 'perk'. Hotels should provide an alternative should a room upgrade not be available.

Beautiful facility. Extremely helpful and courteous staff. Roof top bar was stunning. Morning breakfast buffet was one of the best we have had. Only downside was that our transport van cannot access the street, it is too narrow, but only short half block walk to reach it.

The free buffet breakfast option is excellent. They also have free tea with cake and fruits between 2:30 and five in the afternoon. Most people miss this, however, if you stay in Hanoi, this is a nice break in mid afternoon. Hotel itself is very nice, very clean, just watch for the room they are giving you - as you may sometimes get worse room that you paid for which was the case with us during our first stay there before Ha Long Bay. Anyways, overall well worth the visit and the money we paid for. Also - very difficult to beat their view from their restaurant and sky bar:)

The hotel was dated and smelled of food at hallway of our rooms, bedding was thin and bed sheet had a hole. The surrounding of the hotel was crowded and noisy. Breakfast was average but the view overlooking the lake from breakfast floor was unbeatable. Overall, not recommended.

In a great location with a lovely view over the lake if you go to the sky bar. All the staff were fantastic - helpful and personable. Room were clean and cosy and the bathroom had a great shower. Highly recommended

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück gut (an beiden Tagen gab es eine andere Auswahl). Die einzigen Punkte die uns gestört haben: unser Queenbett bestand aus zwei einzelnen zusammengeschobenen Betten, was dazu führte, dass es einen Spalt gab, welcher eher störte und die Kleider, welche wir beim Wäscheservice abgaben, kamen eher spät und immer noch mit einzelnen Flecken zurück, von denen wir erwartet hatten, dass sie nicht mehr da sind.

Kylie and every one of the staff at San Grand were simply phenomenal. The level of customer care is the best I have experienced anywhere in hotels I’ve stayed which are many the world over. Besides the level of care and attention to detail from staff, the rooms are so comfortable and can’t be faulted. Beautifully decorated and maintained rooms and property overall. Location very ideal. Breakfasts high quality. It feels like such a find and a home in the heart of Hanoi.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Hanoi. The entire team are super friendly and look after your every wish even opening the door for me every time I left the hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard. I made full use of the roof top bar which gives great views across Hanoi and over looking the Lake. There is a Lady called Kylie front of house she will do her upmost to get you what you need & can sort all transport needs to & from the Airport she is a genuine asset to this hotel and super friendly and approachable.

The hotel was in the great location. All nearby food and drink location . Rooms are very clean, modern and no noise interruption. Staffs are very friendly and care about customers especially miss Kylie Tran. I would recommend to all visitors who come to visit Hannoi. I would give 10stars out of 10. Well, what a find this hotel was - the views, location, and the staff! Amazing! It became our ‘ base’ as we explored other out of Hanoi sights, all organised by the fabulous Mia and Kylie, both from the hotel. Service plus! The hotel is also so convenient to food streets, shopping and the beautiful lake. A beautiful hotel in a great location.
