OUR STAY AT HOTEL SOUTHERN STAR, HASSAN
An uneventful stay. Nothing to complain about. Any short comings noticed were corrected immediately. The front office staff were really effective and helpful.

Preiswertes Hotel mit sehr gutem Restaurant
Das Hotel ist zentral in Hassan gelegen, die Zimmer sind groß sauber, aber etwas muffig. Das Restaurant ist preiswert und empfehlenswert (auch die Fleischgerichte).

Enjoyable stay, with very minor hitches
I think that they cater mainly for more local, Indian trade, but there is plenty to attract a foreign traveller. It is good value, quite a good location (not right in the centre of town with all the hustle and bustle that brings) and very close to the railway station (1 km?). The building is looking a little 'tired' and could do with a brightening up, not that it's awful, mind you. One minor complaint was that internet access was not brilliant in the room, but equally better than some others I've stayed in. One cannot complain at this price.

Sehr gutes Mittelklasse-Hotel
Das Southern Star in Hassan liegt günstig für den Besuch der Tempel in Halebid und Belur. Es bietet viel Komfort, grosse Zimmer, schöne Badezimmer. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet. Leider fliesst das Warmwasser im Bad, wie in vielen indischen Hotels nur am Morgen und Abend.

Albergo vecchiotto ma camere ristrutturate e confortevoli (la nostra era superior). Il ristorante avrebbe bisogno di una rinfrescata, ma il servizio è impeccabile e il cibo ottimo. Buona posizione a dieci minuti a piedi dalla stazione degli autobus. Cosigliabile, a patto che non ci si aspetti un 5 stelle...
