âAnimal and Environmental harm caused by employees
I recently stayed at Silver Sand Resort on Havelock Island and was deeply disturbed by what I witnessed.
Several times, I saw resort employees throwing rocks at stray dogs that were calm, friendly, and non-aggressive. The island dogs are well accustomed to tourists, and Havelock Island is also widely known to be rabies free.
In one shocking incident, an employee hit a harmless dog with a rock as it walked past the property. The dog cried out...

âThe location of the hotel is really lovely and pleasant on the shores of the beach/sea, but the rooms given to us were in conditions, worth for zero rating on any count, except the sitout area. But the staff are good and very responsive. The restaurant and the breakfast was just o.k. We booked online two rooms called VIP rooms. âOld hotel in need of a refurbishment, occasional power cuts, dated rooms. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, more a decent 3 star hotel (but hotel also cheaper than normal 5 star hotels). Staff does not have a can do attitude, quite the oppositeand not very useful. Breakfast very basic but ok. Food in restaurant was good. â

âI had a wonderful experience at this hotel from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was extremely welcoming and professional. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was cozy, and everything from the linens to the bathroom amenities felt high quality.
