The Evergreen is a historic cabin, the pictures that are on the website show exactly how the cabin is when you arrive. As was requested, there was an adapter so that the guests could charge their car. Guests have requested to charge cars from the cabin, there is no charge for that service. The Evergreen is very clean, almost everything that is needed for the visit is provided, the location is excellent with most activities less than 12 miles away. The number one national park, The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, in the United States is six miles from the property.

Perfect guests, the cabin was left so nice I can say it was difficult to tell anyone had stayed there!! The Evergreen is just as described, as Jeromey’s comment says. It is clean, comfortable and almost everything you need for the visit is provided. The location is within 12 miles of most parks and activities available in this area. The hot tub on the private, covered back porch is sparkling clean for every guest visit.

What a pleasure to meet Cynthia, her friends from Delaware and her cousin, who is from nearby. Of course, we talked about people that we know here and the history of our families in this area. The cabin was perfect when Cynthia and friends departed. The weather was rainy but they seemed to have a great time exploring this beautiful area.

The Evergreen is a historic cabin with the mantle and cupboards dating before the Civil War, located on the James River and Kanawha Turnpike. It is located within 12 miles of most attractions in the New River Gorge National Park area of Fayette County West Virginia. The cabin provides most all that is needed for your visit including linens, towels, quality paper products, soaps, garbage bags, coffee and filters. Firewood is provided for the fireplace and fire pit, the hot tub on the private, covered back porch is sparkling clean for each guest visit. The cabin does not have laundry facilities but laundry service is provided without a fee.

Great guests, left the cabin very nice. We shall look forward to having you visit again. The cabin is in a perfect location for the New River Gorge National Park, Gorge Bridge, Hawks Nest State Park, Babcock State Park, Carnifex State Park, Summersville Lake, where a new State Park is being prepaired. All except Summersville (12 miles to Battle Run, 18 miles to the new Summersville State Park) all others not more than 12 miles from the cabin. Whitewater rafting is as close as 5 miles south of the cabin, as is the National Park and the New River Gorge Bridge. The cabin is clean, comfortable and has most of the things you need for the visit including linens, towels, quality paper products, coffee & filters, garbage bags, soaps, firewood and a sparkling clean hot tub on the covered, private back porch.

The hot tub is always drained, cleaned and refilled for a sparkling clean hot tub for each guest visit. The evenings and mornings are cool now, the hot tub is a great way to continue to enjoy the beautiful view from the porch and wildlife entertainment. The cabin is very clean and has almost all that you need for the visit including Starbucks Pike Place coffee, filters too. Great guests!

We do not have a dishwasher as the Evergreen is a historic cabin on the James River and Kanawha Turnpike. We offer laundry service to our guests, the hiking trail to the New River from Ansted is on a rail road bed from the early part of the century, there are some remaining structures from those early days. The water falls along the hike are plentiful and very beautiful. Apparently Gloria was hoping for a more difficult hike of which there are many in this New River Gorge National Park area, we are sorry that she was not please with that hike. This is a rural area, although we do have some very good restaurants, fine dining could not be supported in the off season. We do have Secret Sandwich Society opening again today. The restaurant is dearly loved by locals and tourists, it had an unfortunate fire a couple of years ago, building back has had challenges. We appreciate all of our guests.

The Evergreen location is within 12 miles of most activities in the area. The property is organic since 1987, wild animals and birds seem to know and become entertainment. The covered, private back porch has a sparkling clean hot tub, lots of seating, table and chairs, grill with the fire pit and picnic table are near by.

Meredith said all that I could tell you except that I will wash whatever laundry that you leave on the front porch in the morning and return it to the porch will you are having an outdoor adventure.

Hello Ellen, The shower has been redone so that it provides a good, hot shower. The cabin doesn't have room for a washer/dryer but any laundry left on the front porch is taken care of and returned to the cabin while you are busy having adventures.

As I have stated many times, we do have the best guests, Renee was responsive to communications and left the cabin in great shape. The Evergreen is an older cabin (partly pre-Civil War), the driveway is part of the James River and Kanawha Turnpike, signs in the area designate other portions of the Turnpike in the area. The cabin clean, comfortable and in a location within 12 miles of the New River Gorge National Park and Bridge (6 miles south), and many State Park. Summersville Lake is just a few miles north of the cabin. Fayetteville is designated as a "Cool Small Town", and has several very good restaurants that are local with most having farm to table menus. The Evergreen has Wi Fi, premium cable, sparkling clean hot tub and two covered porches for rainy day entertainment.

The Evergreen is the best kept secret in the New River Gorge National Park area. The cabin is private, clean and is on a beautiful 60 acre property within 12 miles of most activities in the area. Two covered porches give guests areas to divide according to their needs. The hot tub is drained, cleaned and refilled for each guest visit. I am on the property if guests have questions or need anything at the cabin.

In a 12 mile radius the cabin is near Hawks Nest, Babcock, and Carnifex Ferry State Parks, Summersville Lake, Summit Bechtel Boy Scout property, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking and most other activities in the area. The cabin is clean and comfortable with most everything that you need provided for the visit including firewood for the fireplace and fire pit. A sparkling clean hot tub on the covered, private back porch ends your day of adventure with total relaxation!

Lucas was a great guests, left the cabin very nice. The Evergreen is fully equipped so that all you need to bring is your personal items. Piggy Wiggly grocery is about a mile away, you can even expand your wardrobe with a tee from the Pig! The area is beautiful, lots of outdoor adventures most within 12 miles of the cabin. Relaxing in the sparkling hot tub, sitting by the fire pit with an abundance of provided firewood, watching the wildlife adds to your New River Gorge National Park visit. We have the best guests ever!!

Bryce and friends were busy guests, this area has so much to experience. The Evergreen is a home away from home, the sparkling clean hot tub with the fire pit close by is a way to relax after you have had an exciting day rafting, rock climbing or a competitive game of golf. The animals are entertainment for our guests as they feel free to roam here for many years, the grounds are also clean from chemicals. Lisa, Susan and Pam were lovely guests. I enjoyed meeting them so much, and hopefully will have them visit again soon. Watching deer, turkeys, squirrels and other wildlife is best when you are relaxing in a sparkling clean hot tub. The cool evenings make having a fire nearby the perfect touch after having a fun day with friends.

Linda and friends visited the Evergreen cabin as a convenient place to go to the String Band Festival at Camp Washington Carver about 12 miles East of the cabin. The cabin is on 60 acres of trees, fields, ponds and wild animals, giving it a private, quiet place to stay. Although I am on the property, due to the continuation of the Covid virus rarely do I meet guests. The Evergreen is surrounded by evergreen trees which block the view from the main house to the cabin. The private covered back porch has a sparkling clean hot tub, lots of seating, table with chairs and grill. There is a firepit close by with firewood provided.

Heidi and family were excellent guests! They left the cabin very nice, enjoyed the property and surrounding area. Hopefully they will visit with us again.

Christopher was a great guest, he is always welcome to return. The Evergreen is within a few miles of the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, rafting, rock climbing, hiking, Summersville Lake, state parks and restaurants in Fayetteville. There are hiking trails on the property where wildlife is visible and the view is outstanding.

Rebecca and family were great guests, the back porch of the cabin is the best place to enjoy wildlife, sparkling clean hot tub, grilling dinner and being together. The cabin location is within 12 miles of most activities in the area, horseback riding with Cowboy Town is just across the highway, excellent restaurants just eight miles South on four lane Rt. 19. We shall look forward to having Rebecca and grandchildren visiting again.

Pat enjoyed the offerings outside the immediate area including Cranberry Glades with the boardwalk where signs explain the unusual plants that should not grow in West Virginia. Hiking in the immediate area is always an adventure, wildlife, tumbling streams, and historical structures. Restaurants in Fayetteville are nearby and offer an array of choices. We do have the best guests!

The trees and shrubs between the two houses keeps privacy for both us and for the guests. The back porch of the Evergreen is very private, all that you see from the porch is a field, pond, woods, deer and other animals enjoying the organic property. The hot tub on the porch has been drained, cleaned and refilled for each guest visit, the grill is clean and ready for you to cook, there is firewood for the fire pit, chairs and a picnic table are conveniently located just off of the porch. There are hiking trails on the property, the location is just six miles North of the New River Gorge Bridge and New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. We are available if guests have questions or need anything but do not intrude on their adventures and stay in the historic cabin.

Erik and his group were exceptionally nice, left the cabin in great order. They are invited back to the Evergreen whenever they can return. The fire pit is very inviting now that the weather has cooled in the evening, we will begin to have the fireplace ready to light when our guests arrive. The Evergreen has all that you need for the visit, no need to bring all your linens, etc. to the cabin. There is a grocery store nearby and the cabin is in a great location for all of the activities available in the area, as well as a central location if you wish to venture farther away for other venues in West Virginia. We do have the best guests!

As Anne stated in her review of the Evergreen and the property, the cabin is the best location around for State and National Park visits. The Fayette County area is naturally beautiful with mountains, hills, the New and Gauley Rivers, waterfalls and excellent outdoor adventures. Whitewater rafting, paddle boarding, rock climbing, zip lining, mountain biking, hiking and just enjoying the gorgeous scenery. The property surrounding the Evergreen is much like a park, since 1987 there have been no chemicals applied to the 70 acres, resulting in lots of visiting animals, wildflowers and great views of the area. The cabin is clean, comfortable and has almost all that guests need for the visit, there is even a friendly grocery store nearby.

Wildlife entertainment is offered each morning and evening by a variety of animals, the fawns are the stars now as they play with each other in the fields. The cabin is located in just a few miles from all the adventures available in this New River Gorge National Park & Preserve area. Fayetteville is the nearest town (eight miles south) and just six miles to the New River Gorge Bridge. Barb continues the best guests ever list!

David and Aubry were excellent guests, enjoyed the outdoors and the property. The cabin is 1800 square feet so does seem large for a couple, it is equipped with most everything needed for the visit. There is a grocery store near the cabin, local people are very friendly and helpful in this area.

The Evergreen is on a 70 acre property, the view from the covered very private back porch is lovely. There is woods, fields, and a pond stocked with small and large mouth bass. Families with children spend some quality time together fishing near the cabin. The back porch is everyone's favorite with the sparkling clean hot tub, grill, lots of seating on the porch and a picnic table, firepit with firewood provided. All of our reviews speak about how clean we keep the Evergreen, that is the most important goal for us with the rentals. The location is great, very near all the adventures, outdoor activities, West Virginia State Parks and the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Kelly and family were the perfect guests!

Gwen and her family were so nice and friendly, they took advantage of all of the activities available in the area. The pond near the cabin is stocked with small and large mouth bass, it is mowed around the area so that guests can fish in comfort. Gwen even gave me an update on the ziplining that they experienced the last day of their visit so that I can decide to try it for myself. Once again, we love our guests.
