Peaceful and wonderful location!
Cozy cabin, great location and so relaxing! Superb location for hiking and adventuring, with peaceful evenings in the hot tub. Will stay here again next trip!

Exactly what we wanted
Loved this little cabin, was everything we were looking for. Private, clean, quiet, affordable and a big area for dogs to run. Owner responded to messages very fast. Cabin was stocked with a full kitchen, had everything you could want down to a waffle maker. Will definitely stay again in the future!

Quiet and cozy.
Great experience. Only stayed 2 nights, but managed hot tubbing, campfire with s’mores and hiking. Had a small issue with the oven, but Tommy (caretaker) was there pronto to fix it. The only improvement I could suggest is the edge of woods surrounding the property had quite a few discarded items. Out of sight, but not out of mind. If you are looking for quiet, cozy, inexpensive and close to various trails and the New River Gorge bridge, this is absolutely the place for you.

Everything about this property was wonderful. It was very clean and the cabin was beautiful. The property manager responded immediately to any questions. The hot tub was great after a day of sightseeing. I can’t wait to book this again!!

Cozy Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay! The fall leaves were beautiful & almost at their peak! The best part was watching the stars from the hot tub!!! One thing to note - the driveway is 1 mile down a twisty gravel road!!! Not terrible in a 4 wheel vehicle, but we were in for a motorcycle ride, and it was a little rough on two wheels! All in all it was a wonderful stay!

4- wheel drive is not necessary. We have had thousands of guests over the years with 0 issues. The gravel road is in great shape. My vehicle is 2 wheel drive.

Cozy cabin
I took my mom who's in her 80's here to see the New River Gorge National Park. It's very conveniently located to the Fayetteville and one of the parks visitor's centers. The cabin was well equipped, decorated very tastefully, and had a very welcoming feel.

Quiet cabin retreat...
We always have a relaxing time staying in this cozy cabin; enjoying the peaceful forest view and stargazing at night. A private location, with easy access to Fayetteville and outdoor activities in the area, it is a great get-away location. The kitchen/grill are perfect for meals at home and the furnishings are well done and comfortable.

Peaceful & Practical
This was a perfect spot for our group of 5 women to stay for an extended weekend climbing trip. The location is great, a relatively short drive to the Gorge. We enjoyed the lightning bugs, stars, and toads that surround the cabin. It was a surprisingly spacious space for the five of us and had everything we needed. With the lockbox, it was an easy check-in and out process. The hosts were friendly in all their communication. Hope to be back soon!

Peaceful getaway
We came for the hiking, but the cabin made us feel like home. Thank you for such a lovely, quiet retreat. We hiked during the day, recovered in the hot tub, and enjoyed the quiet evenings with a firepit. Wonderful!

Have stayed at these two properties on multiple occasions. Cabins are nice, clean, well maintained and have plenty of amenities. Good communication with the owners and never had any problems. Will be back!

The best place to stay in the gorge AREA. Location was perfect for all adventures, including hiking. Did the under the bridge which was great. Tommy the caretaker keeps everything in top shape and is available when needed.

Perfect cabin for outdoor sports
I have stayed numerous times at Fern Creek cabins. This place is a gem. It’s far enough from 19 that you still feel like you are away from it all but only 15 minutes away from the New and all it has to offer. Thank you Richard and Tommy, always feels like home when I stay there.

Father / Son Trip
My son (7) and I had an amazing Spring Break! The cabin was very clean and the property had plenty of space for us to toss baseball and play with the dog. Lots of hiking options close by and of course, the bridge walk! We will be back when he's old enough to go rafting and heavy enough to zipline!

Wonderful and peaceful cabin!
I was there with my husband and our dog and we all loved the cabin and would stay there again. It's clean, and well maintained, including the hot tub. They have a good selection of DVDs, and we brought games to play in the evenings too. It's close to town so you can grab groceries and use the grill for meals. Tommy was super nice and helpful. Our dog absolutely loved the space to run and finding sticks to scatter in the yard (sorry about that!). I spent my mornings drinking coffee and reading on the porch swing, we loved laying out at night and stargazing, and during the day listening to all the birds...it was just a perfect relaxing getaway for our family.

Great little getaway!
The Fern Creek Cabin was great! Location was perfect- close to town and major trails and the Bridge while also feeling like you are in the woods. The property helper and owners were very friendly and attentive. The town of Fayetteville was lovely- had some great cafes and the local theater had a play- which was darling!!

Slice of Heaven
Absolutely wonderful. The owners / hosts were so lovely, helpful, and respectful. You drive down a gravel road to the cabin, come to a clearing in the woods, and inside is practically a huge hotel suite. The bathroom is luxurious, the amenities are plentiful. My wife and I are classic over-connected millennials. There is no wifi in the cabin, but trust me, this is a feature, not a drawback. We had cell service for the necessities, but tablets and laptops stayed off for the most part. It was so wonderful that we ended up staying an extra day, which the hosts were more than happy to accommodate for us despite late notice. 100% will stay again!

This was a great little getaway location. Close enough to everything without knowing you're close to it. The owners were very kind and worked with me when I ran into a scheduling issue. Being able to take our dog with us was the best. He had a blast too!

Perfect location for a remote getaway!
My hubs and I checked wanted to get away for three nights to celebrate our 6 year anniversary and this was the PERFECT location! The cabin was clean, the hot tub was perfect and it had just about everything you need to celebrate love. It was remote and quiet, but still local to Fayetteville for those who want to go explore and see the bridge. There is no internet or cable TV/streaming, so if you plan on relaxing and watching any TV in the cabin, bring some DVD's with you! Definitely recommend!!!

This place was amazing. so clean and everything was so organized. Cabin very clean and tidy. Wife is a clean freak and she was amazed at the cleanliness of the propert. Only drawback is the road going in. not bad but have to take your time going in. Would definitley recommend.

Great place in mountains
Feels very secluded and quiet but just minutes away from all the best sites as well as restaurants and stores. We had a really good time and would return. Highly recommend the endless wall trail for hikers and it's only about 10 minutes drive from the cabin.

Perfect Stay
Spent a few days at this wonderful cabin with my husband while we explored new river gorge. Great location, about 10-15 min drive to town/restaurants/groceries. The cabin itself was super clean and had everything we needed included a fully stocked kitchen. We loved the hot tub after hiking and exploring all day. The cabin is situated in a large meadow like area so we saw lots of deer and enjoyed visits from the resident dog as well. Highly recommend as home base for your hiking and outdoor adventures!

I have thought about writing a review and have gone back and forth about writing one. I know what it’s like to depend on reviews for your business. But the more I thought about it and discussed what happened with clients I was encouraged to write this review. Upon check-in the cabin was clean and a great size for my husband, kids and I. Not long after our arrival my son spotted a wasp.My husband asked for me to look for something to kill it. I looked under the sink and there was a can of wasp and hornet spray ! Hmmm, that seems odd and handy. We killed the wasps only to be faced with 2 bees flying around next. And just when we thought everything was okay there was a praying mantis on the clock. Which I placed outside. Both my husband and I started looking for another place to stay. I then called the owner and texted/e-mailed Richard to let him know what had happened. We couldn’t stay there because our son was allergic to Bees and it just was not safe. It seems as though the bee and wasp problem was known about and should be addressed. I didn’t hear back from anyone until the next evening. Only to be emailed I was refunded a small portion of the total charge. I has very disappointed when I read this because it wasn’t our fault we couldn’t stay there. We showed up for our reservation!! The property was not safe for my son. Very disappointed.

Everything was great. Very clean,well stocked kitchen, and lots of towels. Saw lots of deer . Internet service good. I would only suggest a lite curtain on the side of the back deck for a little shield from children at the side of back.porch.We had a wonderful time. Thanks.

Beautiful Spring Stay
Our first impression of the cabin was that it was sparklingly clean. It was comfortable and had everything that we needed (bedding, towels, etc.). We would put our daughter to bed and then go out to use the hot tub while she fell asleep, since it is a studio. That was the ideal way to end an evening. The surroundings (woods, stars, frogs and whippoorwills) were serene. We will stay at this cabin again if we’re ever in the area.
