Goodenought mid-range hotell in great surroundings

The hotel was situated on the countryside not far from the M40, which was very convinient. The hotel offered a restaurant and a pub, as well as plenty of parking space. Our family had booked two double rooms, since no family rooms were available when we booked. The rooms looked OK at a first glance, but when looking closer it whas clear that they had seen better days. We stayed on a very hot summer night and since the rooms didn´t have any aircondition and now other working ventilation it was very hot in the rooms. The rooms were however acceptabely clean. As in many of the hotels we visited in England, the free wifi that was offered did hardly work at all.The staff where polite and friendly, even though it also would have been nice to see few more smiles from the men working in the restaurant.

A really nice hotel

It is a really nice hotel if you want to go away the city, it is surrounded by nature. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is really nice. You also have the town near just in case you need something.

Lovely Inn, rooms ok but quite a hard bed which wasnt good for either my wife or me. Room 8 (and possibly a few others) are affected by noise from water pumps but once everyone has gone to bed its fine. On a more positive note, the staff and owners are wonderful and friendly. Beers are good but the food is EXCEPTIONAL! Highly recommended hotel for.a getaway

Very rude staff.. extremely gressy food and was given a fan for my room with no safety cover, when i asked the bulldog on reception to change it for the one she had on reception her reply was " simply no that's mine" Badly stained carpet in room.. This place could be a little gem but sadly let down by the people running/ ruined the place!!! The grounds and old buildings could be beautiful

Lovely friendly atmosphere, clean was a bit noisy on morning but was expected due to been a popular stay for contractors wasn’t a problem as we are early risers would definitely stay again lovely garden for sitting in summer

Handy for motorway, comfortable and affordable

Very reasonably priced, friendly service, very helpful. Clean and comfortable room, spacious and warm. Comfortable bed. A teeny bit noisy above the bar but only until 10.30. Recommend for work stays, very handy for M40

Clean your own room.

Stayed for 3 days and had to make my own bed. Room not cleaned once. Yes and coffee etc never replaced. Definitely not a hotel.

What a shame the venue was lovely, but if you want or need food DON'T. You get spinich instead of asparagus, they had run out. A sandwich was so thick with mustard it was inedible. They also ran out of salad!!! Breaksast wasn't even laid out given a choice we went got croissant, they also were bad very doughy in the middle and burnt on the outside although we were told they weren't burnt(see picture) Even had a member of staff behind the bar in is under ware in the morning. Can't really rate other than a joke we were expecting Basil to pop at any moment.

Sleepless in Ibstone

Someone from reception tried to break my door down (whilst I was in bed) just 1 hour after giving me the room. Claiming that she didn't know I was in there. Constant banging of doors in till 01.15am. Front rooms face the car park and smoking area so people sitting outside the bedroom window smoking and chatting until 11.30pm then starting again at 5am. No sleep at all. Stayed there all week and someone came into the room every day to turn the lights off but never once made the bed or changed the towels etc. Not so much a hotel but a DIY bed service!

I arrived not long after midnight, very tired and looking forward to a good night's sleep and the breakfast in the morning which I had pre-paid for. There was nobody on reception or anywhere, but a key was left for me on the reception desk. When I opened my bedroom door I couldn't believe it. The room was roasting hot as the large radiator was on full blast. I tried, but I didn't get to sleep till after 3am, and even then didn't sleep well. As a consequence, I overslept, missed breakfast by about 5 minutes, and was late for my days' work. As a further consequence, I didn't get to eat until after 6pm when I had finished work, which was 23 hours after I had last eaten. When I checked out I told the lady that I had a bad night because the room was so very hot and missed breakfast, but there was no suggestion that she would find me something to eat (which I had paid for) or be refunded for the breakfast, or compensated for the very uncomfortable night. All in all, not happy or impressed. Other small points, the towels were crispy, the shower door was broken, and the TV signal was patchy.

Hotel was fine, charged for a room that was already paid for with booking company. No response from phone calls from myself or booking company. Still no refund. Will never use again. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
