  • Welcome to Bluebird Retreat. A cozy cabin in the heart of the Black Hills just out of Hill City. Located in the popular High Country Ranch. Enjoy the Mickelson Trail right out your front door. Main attractions close by including Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and views. Enjoy sitting by the bonfire watching wildlife in the evenings.

It met our needs. Nice central location- good distance from Hill City. It was well furnished.Our only suggestion would be to have some type of covering over the large kitchen window and a light fixture over the shower.We enjoyed our stay!

Our cabin was perfect for us 4 travelers; 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 dog. The property was clean and well kept inside and out. The kitchen was stocked with just enough of what we may have forgotten from home. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated having a grill on the deck. The horses that passed by the side of the cabin intermittently were a beautiful sight. My only suggestions would have been to have a more maintained/cleaned out fire pit and we had to be cautious watching our dog at the front door secondary to a difficult latch.

Great Property

Great location for visiting the Black Hills and a well maintained and tastefully decorated log home with all the amenities you can ask for. Would definitely stay there again!

Nice cabin! Beds were comfortable and amenities were good. The addition of shampoo, soap, towels, and basic kitchen equipment were a plus.

Great place, location, if you want Wi-Fi make sure you get the password before you get there, but shouldn’t need it if you love the outdoors!

Great Cabin

We recently stayed here for a short family vacation. Our group had 4 adults, 1 child, and 1 dog. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the cabin was clean and looked like new. Great location too.

Our stay was very nice. Just a few things—the picnic table was broken and not useable. Also the chairs around the fire pit were also broken.

Bluebird Retreat R&R Perfect!

The Bluebird Retreat is in a delightful location amongst other vacation cabins but with spacing that affords privacy and uninhibited views of the small valley through which a classic babbling brook runs. It is the perfect size cabin for a party of 4-6 (3 queen beds), with a nice design, and, dovetailing nicely with my tastes, not to fancy and not too simple. Particularly enjoyed the porch in the early mornings and the firepit in the evenings.

Relaxing

Loved the location quite and peaceful. They allowed us to brimg our two pups and they enjoyed the walks too! Clean, comfortable and relaxing to get away from the huddle of daily life. Thank you
