Welcome to Hyggehus. This 85 m² holiday apartment sits on the upper floor of a historic thatched-roof farmhouse in the middle of the Danish marshland — with its own sauna, warm wood throughout and wide views across the meadows.

The Space:

The apartment is all on one level beneath the thatched roof. Warm wooden ceilings, wide floorboards and sloping ceilings shape every room.



Two bedrooms, each with a large bed, one of them with a desk and work space. The living room has a large corner sofa with a pull-out bed, a dining table with wicker chairs and a balcony door opening onto the green. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a handheld showerhead, an illuminated mirror and underfloor heating.



The centrepiece is the private sauna in the hallway — a wooden cabin with a glass door and digital controls.



One important note about the kitchen: the apartment has a compact kitchenette with two hotplates, a fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee machine as well as crockery, cutlery and glassware. Pots, pans, oven and microwave are located in the shared kitchen on the ground floor — that is where cooking happens. Anyone planning to cook properly does so downstairs.



Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided.



Guest Access:

The apartment is exclusively yours. It is on the upper floor and reached via an external staircase — inside, everything is on one level. It is therefore not step-free.



Check-in is self-service via a key box at the bottom of the stairs. We will send you the code and all details in good time before your arrival.



Together with the neighbouring apartment you share the conservatory on the ground floor: the shared kitchen, coffee corner and drinks fridge. It is locked at 10 p.m. The owners' private area is not part of the accommodation.



The Neighborhood:

The house stands alone in the marshland near Højer, close to the German-Danish border. Meadows, dikes and open space all around — the nearest neighbours are far enough away that quiet comes as a matter of course.



The UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, Tønder and the North Sea coast are all within reach. Flood-protection watercourses run around the house — please take care, especially after dark.



A large lawn with an old oak tree and a seating area belongs to the house.
