I have traveled around Vietnam with my girlfriend from Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh for 6 months and have stayed in hotels.
I always check-in with my girlfriend at any hotel without any problems.
Sunrise hotel does not allow my girlfriend to come in. Because I am a Swedish citizen and she is a Vietnam citizen. But we both are Vietnamese people.
Their policy only allows marriage couples to live together.
But on the other hand, foreigners are allowed to live together without marriage.
I do not understand the point? We have over 1,000 pictures on the phone/camera on each other, also with my gf parent. But it does not explain that we are a couple, says Sunrise staff.
Sunrise wanted my girlfriend to book a own room for 700,000 VND.
Then she can enter my room. Why should we pay for 2 rooms and only use 1 room?
What they mean that I may have found my girlfriend on the street.
Therefore, we can not live together without marriage papers.
But it's not that I have taken home a stranger girl at night.
We checked-in together at 13:00 O'clock.
I have never had to read any policy before I book hotels.
I've never been to this before in my whole life.
READ THEIR POLICY BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY MISSTAKE!
