“The location is perfect - close to all amenities.The decking areas offer fabulous views of the harbour and the sand dunes, and are shaded by the Pohutukawa trees. The downstairs bedrooms need ceiling or other workable fans. The kitchen appliances could do with upgrading.We had no pets, so there was no issue. Good parking spaces. ”

“It was a nice beach batch that had everything needed for 1 night. Enjoyed sitting in sun eating our dinner. Something had died so there was a bad smell. Probably a bird. The showers outside were good pressure, but they really needed to be cleaned, dirt and leaves in them. But a great family batch”

“Our experience with ‘Moongate villa’ was disappointing because on our 2nd day, some building works began next door which woke us up at 8.00am in the morning and the cement pouring and flattening machines started working. It’s no exaggeration to say that the whole of our building vibrated to the machines being used. As for the noise all of this created, it was horrendous! The owners of ‘Moongate villa’ agreed to give us 1 x night free of charge. Please confirm that you can refund us this back...

“If you like to sleep in, then the honeymoon suite is not for you. They have a dog and small children that wake you up early by running around above you. We also had to kill 8 big bugs( i know its a outdoorsy place and i expect some bugs but not 8) before we went to sleep that night. ”

“The cottage is beautiful and rustic with amazing artwork and the best views over Matauri Bay and the Cavalli islands. Very private and perfect for our 2 french bulldogs. They loved the property and the freedom of their own space in an idilic location. Smart tv, washer and dryer plus a massive shower. Our host Teresa was so friendly even helped us with a flat battery in our car. Highly recommend 5 stars ”
