SHIMMERS, Villa 8, Porters Court is a traditional Bajan, Chattel style, detached villa with 2 air conditioned, bedrooms, both with recently refitted, ensuite shower rooms. Bedroom one has a super king bed and bedroom two has two single beds which come together to make a king size bed on request. The villa also boasts a living room, kitchen, utility room, separate WC, study area and a wonderful, covered veranda for open air dining.
Shimmers is in an exclusive gated complex, which is quiet, secure and family friendly. It consists of 8 similar villas set in lush tropical gardens with a beautiful communal pool which feature several sunbeds and parasols.
Shimmers is just a 4-minute walk from the beautiful crystal blue water of the Caribbean Sea at Alleyne’s Bay beach, a spectacular sandy beach on the prestigious West Coast of Barbados, which hosts the iconic Lone Star Restaurant. Holetown is a 5-minute drive (30-minute Walk) away which boasts beachfront bars, restaurants, nightclubs, supermarkets, shops, and banks etc.
There is private parking in front of Shimmers if you hire a car (hire cars can be delivered to the villa on request), if you prefer public transport, the bus stop is a 4-minute walk away, the public bus service is fast and frequent and a great way to get around, taxis are in plentiful supply too.
The airport is just 45 minutes (47km/29 miles) away by car.
Your stay at Shimmers comes with complimentary Beach Club Access for 4 people at the nearby 5* Royal Fairmont Hotel. This includes complimentary sun loungers and parasols on the beach. The membership also gives you 10% discount on food, drink, and water sports.

Inside the villa boasts traditional high pickled pine ceilings, polished hardwood floors, air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need, the utility room comes with a washing machine and tumbler, the lounge has an HD TV with an amazon firestick, a Bluetooth speaker and 2 large comfortable sofas. The two bedrooms have built in wardrobes and a vanity desk; the study area has a small library of books.
The covered veranda extends to two sides, it is perfect for outdoor dining, cooking on the Webber BBQ or just sipping an ice-cold rum while watching the local wildlife which includes Monkeys, Lizards and Hummingbirds, there is also a great view of the sun setting over neighbouring gardens.
There is broadband/WIFI, a villa phone for local calls, there are also a couple of 240-volt sockets for use with UK electronics.
A housekeeper is included; she will visit approximately every 5 days for around 4 hours.
There is a property manager who is available to assist you with various things, such as, arrival supplies (for a small fee) car hire, excursions, airport transfers and any concerns or emergencies with the villa.
All linens, towels, beach and pool towels are included, along with several other useful items, like beach chairs, snorkels, cool box etc...
In the villa there is an extensive Information booklet, packed with more information on the villa, beaches, restaurants, and the various attractions of Barbados on sea and on land.
Check in is from 16:00 and check out by 12:00 (Late checkout available on request, subject to availability)

THE ISLAND:
Apart from the beautiful warm all year-round weather which averages 30C/86F, Barbados has endless attractions and activities available, including scuba diving, swimming with turtles, surfing, rum tours, cricket and polo matches, the list is endless, and on top of that is the amazing choice of bars and restaurants.
For the golfers, there is The Royal Westmoreland Golf Course 5-minute drive away and the Prestigious Sandy Lane Golf Course is just a 12-minute drive.
There are many amazing beaches in Barbados, but some of the nearest ones to the villa are Alleyne’s Bay, Mullins, Paynes Bay which are all great for sunbathing and swimming. For all water sports fanatics there are plenty of opportunities to take part in a wide variety of activities including diving, snorkelling, water skiing and jet skiing on most of the beaches.
On the south of the island is the capital; Bridgetown, it is about a 30-minute drive south along the stunning coastal road. It is a lively, bustling town - and well worth a visit particularly for its historic buildings including the Garrison, the Parliament, the Careenage, and the Old Spirit Bond. Oh, and the Mount Gay Distillery Tour & Rum Tasting!
Barbados is great to visit all year round: The climate in is tropical, warm, and humid all year round. Average temperatures range from 24C at night to 32C during the day (75F to 90F). February-May is driest. June-October is slightly hotter with averages of 30C/86F but with a little more rain, but the rain is quickly followed by sunshine again and you won't be kept off the beach for long. Sea temperature ranges from 25C (79F) in winter to a high of 29C in summer (84F).
