Meets all expectations
We enjoyed everything about the property. It is extremely clean and well appointed. Our property manager reached out to us before our stay and kept us informed of any developments in the area during our two week stay. The beach access to the Fairmont is seamless and convenient for walks or beach drinks/lunch. The pool is very clean and close and we loved that we could go for a quick swim at any time. Our hosts - Heather and Mark - were attentive to our every request. The property is lovingly cared for and they truly care about their guests' comfort and enjoyment. Highly recommend Porters Gate and this property.

Birthday Celebrations in Barbados
Beautiful property with stylish decor and fully equipped with everything to make it home from home. Fantastic outside space with comfortable furniture and plunge pool. Beach passes for sun beds and umbrellas at the Fairmont hotel, a short walk away, were very welcome. Only downside to the property was the building site next door. Noisy during the day, but totally out of the control of the property owners. Would recommend this property on location, communal pool, proximity to beach and bus stops - but check building work is finished before you book! Looking forward to a return visit in the future.

We would love to welcome you back to our home anytime, our pleasure. The small development of Townhouses adjacent to Porters Gate had a planned completion of late Autumn 2023, landscaped and occupied in time for the beginning of the high season in Barbados. We closed our home and rental calendar for 6 months on this basis and opened for their completion date. Very unfortunately we were then advised that this was extremely delayed due to a heavy rainy season. During our communication with you we know that you understand this was entirely out of our control and we sincerely hope that our gestures of appreciation demonstrated this. Perfect stay in Barbados
We have recently enjoyed 2 weeks at 4 Porters Gate, which was Fantastic . The Villa was very clean , quiet and well equipped, the garden was beautiful and we instantly felt at home , so much so that I am planning to go back for an extended stay next year . The position is perfect, very close to the beach and supermarket, there are also many bars and restaurants within easy reach . The guide book/file was incredibly informative, with everything you need to know about the Villa as well as recommendations of beaches, restaurants, et cetera. Although this is our fourth visit to Barbados, we were introduced to places that we didn’t know existed, which added to making this holiday the best in Barbados yet. We couldn’t recommend this enough .

Wonderful house!
This is truly a lovely and comfortable property. The access to the Fairmont beach club was a huge plus, we went there every day. The large pool was a great place to relax and float and the little pool in the backyard was fun for a quick dip. Ceiling fans kept the house cool and we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of mosquitoes, which can be ferocious in Barbados. Lots of great restaurants nearby and a terrific kitchen and barbecue if you want to cook at home. Furnishings and bedding were impeccable and comfortable. Truly a lovely home away from home.

Two weeks in Paradise
Heathers villa is exactly as described and more. The house was exceptionally well set up for our family group of four, with separate ensuite bathrooms, comfy beds, lots of closet space, and a lovely balcony for each bedroom. The back patio with plunge pool was even nicer than pictured, and we spent many mornings enjoying breakfast there before heading out for an adventure. We made good use of the electric grill with fresh fish from the local fish market and loved the outdoor dining space. The kitchen had all that we needed and the water dispenser on the fridge a bonus. Great recommendations in the book Heather has prepared for guests. We visited many favourite restaurants from previous visits to Barbados, and enjoyed a number of new ones from the book. Just great to be in close walking distance to Lone Star, Sea Cat and Horny Ram. This trip we rented a soft-top jeep from Stouts, and this made getting around exceptionally easy and fun. A short jaunt to Speightstown or a shorter one to Holetown, and an easy drive to the beautiful north and east shores. The Royal Fairmont beach club passes were well used, just a short walk away to this beautiful beach with sun beds and umbrellas, and a great beachside restaurant with good food and friendly service. Outstanding communication from Heather and Marcia, and super housekeeping from Shan. All around an absolutely fantastic two weeks in paradise and I would highly recommend!

Fantastic
We had a lovely holiday in Barbados and the house was fantastic. Heather’s communication was great before and on arrival, and their house manager was on hand to greet us on arrival. The location was as described and an easy walk to the beach, even with a toddler and an under 1 in a buggy! Access to the Fairmont Beach Club was a real bonus and made accessing and using the beach really easy (beaches are public in Barbados, but they’re not always that accessible / have facilities etc, so if you’re travelling with children or want to avoid any hassle, it’s a real bonus). We dined at a lot of the local restaurants which we could walk to or it’s an easy drive. The house itself was really nice: clean, well equipped and the complex was safe and secure. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

This home was perfect for the 4 of us! It is a 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach where we spent most of our days. Heather provided a lot of great information to help us with places to eat and visit. If we can make it back to Barbados, we would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful villa on the West coast of Barbados...... great location, quiet, clean, comfortable beds and really everything you need for a home away from home on holiday ! The outside space is lovely and private for relaxing in and a great area for outdoor dining. We would definitely stay there again !

Fantastic 18 nights in this lovely home
This property lived up to and in many ways exceeded our expectations. In particular we loved the outside living and garden, the huge fan palm being the gardens crowning glory. Splash pool great for a cool down after day out. The interior of this place is clean with tasteful décor and had all we required and more than expected. The pass to Fairmont beach was an added bonus and we used this a lot. Massy Supermarket nearby (approx1 mile) was very useful and stocked everything we needed. We hired a car for part of our holiday, however, the Reggie Buses are so regular and great to use for visiting the West Coast from Bridgetown in the south to Speikestown further in the North. Paulette the housekeeper was great and Heather's friendly yet professional communication A1. We would have no doubt in recommending this property and really hope to visit again.

Wow, Paradise at Porters Gate
We are reluctant to write a good review for this property as it will only encourage others to book this wonderful rental! However, we can only say this was quite the most fabulous place to stay for our holiday of 16 nights on the West Coast in Barbados. The villa was perfectly located, just 10 minutes' walk north of Holetown where we were able to buy all essentials, with plenty of designer shopping and eateries. Speightstown, about 10 minutes north in the car or on the bus, had a more authentic Bajan atmosphere. The villa itself was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and was so much bigger than it looked in the photos. There were air conditioning units and fans in every room to keep us cool. We found the kitchen was fully equipped with all mod cons plus there was a large fridge/freezer with ice and water on tap! We chose to use the BBQ griddle situated on the patio mostly for cooking fresh fish and spent much of our holiday relaxing in the outdoor space, with its dining table, settees or sunbeds - we didn't eat inside once as the outdoor area was just so tranquil. The plunge pool was just a perfect size - again it was bigger than expected and you could stretch out quite easily so no need to use the communal swimming pool. In addition, there was so much wildlife in the garden to enjoy, tiny lizards, hummingbirds that frequented daily and even a fruit bat flew in one evening! The bedrooms and bathrooms, all were a great size, perfectly decorated and furnished with everything you would need to feel totally at home. We made use of the free beach passes to Royal Fairmont Hotel and Heron Bay beach was also just another short walk away perfect places to watch the sunsets. We hired a car so we could visit all the provinces, visiting lots of sights. We kayaked from Speightstown up the North West Cost and snorkelled with the turtles in Carlisle Bay, south of the Island - both brilliant excursions. No need to hire a car though as the yellow buses that whizz around the island are plentiful and just $3 BDollars. Eating out on the West Coast was expensive but, travel further afield, north or to the South or East Coast the prices are more reasonable. The hosts, Heather and Mark, were brilliant for communicating details to us and making recommendations. They also left us a bottle of fizz with a welcome card on our arrival which was lovely. Wonderful villa, wonderful hosts, wonderful location. We will return!

A perfect little corner in paradise!
What a gem of a find! We love Holetown and always aim to stay in the area and prefer to self cater. The moment we booked this villa on HomeAway and we got the lovely welcome message from Heather the owner I knew we had made the right decision. We are a family of 3 and the villa was perfectly situated for all our favourite spots yet set back from the main road so it was peaceful, homely and relaxing. The villa itself is spacious, well-maintained and very well equipped - particularly the kitchen and the thoughtful provision of beach towels, which helps when packing! We enjoyed using the communal pool and tennis courts and I couldn’t get my daughter out of the dip pool in the back garden! The managing agent who met us on arrival was welcoming and knowledgable and very responsive when we had an issue with the satellite TV after a power cut. We even met some of the friendly neighbours, such a wonderful community feel. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, it is all you can ask for in a self catering rental, truly a home from home. We only wish we could afford one of our own!

Much more than it says on the tin!
If you are searching through the hundreds of properties in Barbados and you come across 4 Porters Gate then do not hesitate to book. The description of this house is absolutely correct, from location to content. From the minute we booked I felt this was the right choice. Every correspondence with Heather made me feel even more convinced that we had chosen the right place. The house is very well cared for with absolutely everything you would need to self cater. The outside space is a tranquil haven, the furniture is comfortable as are the beds which are complete with very good quality linen. The en-suites all have fantastic showers with towels you would be delighted with in your own home never mind a holiday rental. Its safe, secure, private and very central. We were welcomed by Kerrie the property manager who had the house staged like something from Homes and Gardens and to be honest after a long flight the sight of candles burning around the plunge pool and a welcome bottle of Fizz awaiting was exactly what your tired eyes needed. We had a fantastic first time in Barbados made extra special by the quality and location of our accommodation. Thank you once again Heather for taking care of all our needs and going the extra mile. Beautiful Home
Just stayed 12 days with my family in Mark and Heather's beautiful bajan home. Heather arranged for Ryan to meet us at the airport and he very kindly took us grocery shopping before taking us to the villa. We were very pleased upon arriving to the villa. It is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped with anything you would want. The beds were very comfortable and each of the bedrooms were tastefully decorated with white linens. Our favourite place in the villa was the outdoor terrace and plunge pool. After a day of touring around the island, we loved to come back to the outdoor living area for a cool drink and a soak in the plunge pool. The larger community pool was very close to the villa and it felt like it was our own private pool as we were often the only ones in the pool. We rented a car for several days to explore the island. It was very easy to arrange and the car was delivered to the villa. But if you didn't want to drive, the bus stop was a short walk from the villa. The buses come quite frequently and a " must to try" at least once!! We rode the buses everyday. Heather and her management team were fantastic to deal with and replied to our enquiries very quickly. I would highly recommend Heather and Mark's villa if you are looking for a home away from home ,while vacationing in Barbados. Thanks again Heather. Mary Anne and David

Dream Holiday Home
We have just returned from Heather and Mark's home, having spent a wonderful time there with our 2 older children. The villa was perfect for our needs, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. For us, the best part was the outdoor space, where we spent most of our time. The beds were comfortable, with immaculate white bedding and beautifully fitted en-suite bathrooms. There were large wardrobes in both bedrooms with plenty of hangers and storage. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed and even toilet paper, kitchen paper, dishwasher tabs and cleaning products were included, which is very unusual. I was also very impressed that even though we only stayed for 12 days, the house was cleaned and towels and beds changed twice. We were extremely well looked after by the Concierge service who met us on arrival and when departing. Diana was at the end of the phone at any time should we need her and the same for Heather, who was very helpful. The villa's location is excellent, with frequent buses running from the end of the road into Holetown, Bridgetown and Speightstown. We also hired a car for a few days to go further afield. We would not hesitate in recommending this holiday property to anyone. It is extremely well managed, and represents excellent value for money. Thank you Heather and Mark

Beautiful, Outstanding Villa
Great location. Near the best beaches in Barbados and easy walk to Lone Star Restaurant. One of the best villas we have stayed in. Everything you needed, was at the villa. Had a monkey visit us on our first day, which was great to see. Spent many evenings relaxing out side in the garden. Spent many mornings around the communal pool, which was very quiet as we seemed most days to have it all to our selves. Raphael who was looking after the villa for Heather and Mark was always on hand if we needed him. Thank you Heather for letting us use your Villa, it was fantastic.

Very neat and compact. Tastefully and well furnshed with very comfortable beds.
We had a wonderful holiday at this beautiful property. The villa is very clean and tidy and is well managed and maintained very well. Pretty much everything has been thought about - picnicware etc. Ideal location for local beaches. The plunge pool is very refreshing. The owner is very cusomer focused and very pleasant and helpful. any queries prior to departure from the UK were addressed and responded to promptly. The property listing was accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed using the local transport, particularly the reggae buses.
