A+ stay in Surf City
My family stayed at the property for a long weekend for Spring Break. While the weather wasn’t ideal, the accommodations made our stay the best it could be. The location of the home is perfect for being on the beach and in the center of everything. Nothing better than being right across the street from Shaka Taco! Ted was the best host, communicating before our arrival and being available for a question during our stay. We look forward to our next stay and hope it’s here!

Excellent location
Very nice house, enough room for family and 3 grandchildren. You cannot go wrong with the location. Parked the car and didn't get back in until i checked out. Loved the elevator, my 84 yr old mom loved it too. The only thing is the king beds need updated, the foam toppers on them were uncomfortable. But you cant go wrong with the location.

Thank you very much! I hear you about the toppers. Honestly all of our mattresses are premium pillow top mattresses. We just add the toppers. I have to say that the majority of our guests love the beds as they are. So you can see the dilemma

Another Fantastic Family Adventure
This is the 2nd year we have rented from Ted - Just great communication and locations of his homes. Even with Idalia passing through during our week - we had a great time together and made all the memories. The beds were super comfortable, towel and bed linens laid out for us on arrival. And nice pool we were able to set up our corn hole tournaments to play with all the residents. We did have to call in for help at the home and Theo & Colby could not have been more accommodating, even giving us local pointers for restaurants and such. We love this location and surf and will be seeking out Ted to schedule our next Adventure in Surf City!. Thank you from our family to yours.

Perfect spot for a family to stay
Its obvious the owners value quality in all importance areas. Mattresses, patio and interior furnishing. The additional amenities like the grill were nice touches that we had paid extra for in other locations. Our favorite was the early check-in. Made the first day that much more enjoyable.

Family Beach Vacation!
The whole family, ranging in ages, loved this home. You cannot get any closer to the ocean. You step out of your home, pass the pool and you are on the beach. If you like to try surfing, the waves were huge for the Atlantic Ocean. The pool is warm and kept very clean. You can walk to restaurants easily. Our favorite part was to get up, see the sunrise and walk the bridge. We did this every day of our week long stay. The elevator makes unloading and loading so easy. The high chairs on the 2 covered(shaded) decks makes it so easy to watch your family and waves. One last thing, finding shark teeth on the beach!

Perfect location
This was our 2nd year staying at one of Ted’s properties and it was just as amazing as the year before! The location is perfect. We park our cars and are able to walk everywhere. Ted is amazing! Very responsive and so nice! All of the furniture and bedding are so comfortable, truly a home away from home. Can’t wait until next year!

Family vacation
This was the fourth time we have stayed in this property. We have not been able to all get together for 3 years due to the pandemic and military deployment. The house is still beautiful and provides the perfect setting for our family to enjoy the beach and everything Topsail has to offer.

Perfect family beach house
The house was comfortable for our group of 7 adults and children and the beachfront views were lovely. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining room was large enough for a big group. The beds were comfortable and towels were provided, except for beach towels. There were some beach toys/boogie boards left by previous visitors and the community pool was fun. It has a large 3ft end that worked well for our kids. We all enjoyed being able to walk to stores and restaurants. There is a small, well stocked grocery store nearby. The one downside to being close to everything is a bar behind the house that gets a little noisy on weekends. Ear plugs might be helpful for light sleepers. I would recommend this house for families.

Perfect Golf/Beach Getaway
A group of 8 stayed at this beautiful home for a week of mainly golfing and beach walking. The accommodations were well-suited for 4 couples, with each couple having their own bathroom. The owner was responsive to a few repairs that needed to be made. Overall, we would stay again

Clean and Beautiful home in a wonderful location
This house was just what we needed for our family. Our teenager's enjoyed the location to be able to walk to the stores and the pier. The fisherman in our crew loved the ease of walking to the pier or th park to fish. The access to the beach was easy. The house was well stocked in the kitchen. The view in the mornings was spectacular of the sunrise.

Wonderful Christmas!
Sea-King Refuge was exactly as pictured and described, and amazingly convenient to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores. We hosted two family gatherings to celebrate Christmas and were pleased with the well-stocked kitchen, sleeping arrangements and multiple bathrooms. The views from the decks were spectacular, including daily dolphin sightings. Ted is a "super" host, very quick to respond and quite personable. Our family would definitely recommend this lovely home!

Relaxed in Surf City
Our family's stay was everything we hoped it would be during our visit to Surf City. The house was as advertised and the owner was friendly, gracious and accommodating. We asked whether there was a griddle on site and his reply was; “If there isn't one there will be when you get there.” There was a new griddle in the kitchen upon our arrival. The house is steps from the beach and we loved the bedrooms, each with a bath. The beds were very comfortable as new mattresses had been recently added to the house. The location on North Shore Dr. is walking distance to several nice places to eat.

Best spot on the island
We've stayed multiple years on Topsail Island. This particular beachfront home is one of the most pleasantly situated spots on the island. Easy beach access (and view!) and rear access to the beach town. Everything we needed was in walking distance, including the pier, bars, and restaurants. Clean home and a very attentive owner. Makes basecamp for a great beach vacation!

We had a wonderful stay in this home in Surf City. It was large enough to accommodate all of our family members comfortably. We loved that it was a beachfront property with a private pool that we used frequently for the kids. There was even an elevator if we needed it. The home was clean when we arrived with pantry and hygiene supplies available as well as toys for the kids to use on the beach. There were several binders throughout the home with information and specific instructions on the check out process and other tidbits about the area. The owner made himself available even going so far as to contact us from another phone when his phone was out of service to notify us of how to reach him if we needed anything. He showed genuine concern that we enjoyed our stay and that we were well taken care of. The only issue that we had was that the internet was unstable at times so we had to reboot it. I forgot to mention that to the owner when I talked to him but I have no doubt that if he knew about it he would have taken care of it as soon as possible. Although the cost was more than I've ever spent on lodging it was comparable to the rising prices of today. I hope to be able to return to this property in the future.

It was lovely to be on the beach, relax and walk to everything. Kitchen nicely stocked with condiments, etc. Pool nice for the toddlers and their parents. I would definitely recommend this property. On Friday and Saturday night band across the street a bit loud until 11 pm.
