“Very enjoyable stay. Hotel combines the traditional with the modern very well. Spa is lovely and our room was fantastic.”

“Room was spacious but facing parking which came as a surprise. Breakfast and dinner options are good. Pool facilities are good. First breakfast only one person doing everything who was stressed and abrupt and complained so out loud. The other morning there were more staff so ok. In general staff are helpful and the stay was pleasant. ”

“I was quite disappointed with my stay. The breakfast was terrible — very limited options and not appetizing at all. The room wasn’t comfortable; I could hear the neighbors talking and even snoring through the walls. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and to make things worse, the noise from the birds outside kept me up most of the night. Overall, not a pleasant experience and I wouldn’t stay here again. The good thing about the hotel was the location, at the heart of Carlisle. ”

“Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. “Standard size bed, so be careful if you are tall/wide; not suitable for wheelchair users as dining room up narrow stairs; little shelving in bathroom; breakfast period limited (7.30 -8pm). Good points - free Wi-Fi, honesty bar, extra pillows/ duvet in room, very quiet location.”
