Great spot for our extended family of 12 - quiet, plenty of parking, places available to retreat to when you wanted some time for yourself, plenty of yard space for kids to play. Check-in super easy with a door code, modern kitchen with everything needed to cook. And can't forget about the pool and hot tub!

This year is the second year that we have rented this house. We LOVE it here! The house is secluded on a beautiful landscaped property. There were primarily 12 of us staying here. Plenty of beds in the main house. There are 2 large utility sheds on the property converted cabins. They each have 2 beds, electricity and air conditioners. Perfect for family and friends to spend overnight in,or a quick day time nap in a quiet cabin. The pool was a hit with everyone. It is well maintained. Marie(the owner) has put plenty of sitting areas around the pool and on the property. Be aware, the drop from the shallow end to deep end of the pool is significant. The beach is a short drive from the property. Those of us that can still walk in sand (ancient hips) spent a couple of afternoons there. Brand new gas grill and 2 full propane tanks. Kayaks to use on the river. Can life be any better than this? Large living room, although not a lot of seating there. No worries we brought our lawn chairs inside as needed. No dishwasher but between adults washing and paper plates etc, clean up after meals was easy. No central air. Each room has a window air conditioner that does the trick. Marie was available through out our stay. Marie is an angel. Poor thing had to put up with my texts. "Where can I find a light bulb?" Is there an extension cord available?" " "Ooops I honestly thought check out was at 11 a.m." I highly recommend this rental. You will really enjoy the space! Thank you Marie!

Overall we had an amazing time! It is a relaxing spot and the pool was just what we all needed. The kitchen had everything you needed. There is shopping close for all of your needs! You do need to bring your own linens and the river was not passable for us to kayak down to the attached pond but it didn't matter because we had so much fun in the pool! Marie was very responsive and kind. We will be back!

Truly an amazing stay for our family! The interior of this home had a calm and cool ambience; perfect for a much-needed getaway. Each bedroom hosted it's own air conditioning unit that did keep the whole house cool in this crazy heat. The stunning pool is the heart of this home! We all enjoyed floating, laughing, and cannonballing the afternoon away. There is a covered mini-outdoor pavilion which was ideal for our shade-loving family members. Gardens were blooming and beautiful. Thank you Marie for adding the personal touches, we appreciate it !

Friends and family vacation

Great spot plenty of space in the house for everyone. Nice kitchen and livingroom obviously the salt water pool was great. We spent out nights near the fire pit and gazed at the stars. They really shine bright with no light pollution around here. Recommend having your monitoring coffee near the river access for a relaxing start to your day.

June 2025

This was the fourth year we have gone to this house, and we have already booked it for next year. We love it and look forward to it. The hostess is helpful and quick to respond to our questions. It is perfect for our family. Our family consists of my husband and me, our two married daughters, their husbands, and their daughters (ages 4, 7, and 8). We gather fairly frequently at home, but it is usually to attend an event, so we don’t have time to catch up with each other. Our “vacation house” allows us time to chat, laugh, be silly, play games in or around the pool, make S’mores, and maybe even sing around the fire pit.

Great Experience

Had a wonderful July 4th week with family. The pool was a big hit with the whole family and made for a refreshing time on a hot week. The river out back provided some quiet time for doing a little fishing. Only down side was that there wasn't a dishwasher, but that was quickly remedied by a quick trip to the grocery store to buy paper plates and utensils! Even though you feel like you are in a very rural area, which you are, stores, restaurants, and amenities are only 10 minutes away!. A great place for a relaxing vacation!

We really enjoyed the space, inside and out. There was several seating areas outside. One by the pool, one in the garden area and one by the fire pit. Just fantastic! The pool and the grounds were very well maintained. Outdoor lighting was well placed. The kitchen and dining areas were larger than it looked in the photos. 6 chairs at the dining table. We expected 4...bonus! Washer and dryer..bonus! The livingroom was large but more seating is needed to accommodate a big group. We used an available fan to circulate cool air from the livingroom into the dining room and kitchen. Overall we loved this home. We enjoyed every minute of our time there.

Great Multigenerational Family Reunion

Our family, ages 5 to 70 enjoyed 8 wonderful days at the River House. When not content to sit by the pool or laze in the hot tub, we were off biking/hiking on nearby trails, exploring nightlife in Newport and Providence, sightseeing, and enjoying seafood along the coastal communities. The home had numerous spots to congregate or just segregate to read, do yoga or meditate. We were impressed by the high-end kitchen appliances (blenders, coffee makers, cookware, etc) as our group consisted of several professional chefs and bartenders. Due to drought conditions, the river wasn't fully utilized but provided the perfect backdrop for our week.

Bugs, so many bugs

This property backs up to a river and we expected that there would be bugs on the outside of the property. Strangely enough there were many more more bugs inside the house than outside. There were so many bugs flying around the food in the kitchen and dining room that it was almost unbearable. I woke up on the second morning to use the bathroom and the sink was absolutely covered in dead gnats! The only saving grace was the pool area where we spent most of our time. Except at night because none of the light bulbs worked. This is dangerous, especially for families with small children. The gate to the pool area is broken so if a child were to get out unattended it would be very hard to find them. Never again, especially not at this price point. I expected better for the price.
