Cute little stone house on the hill

Convenient, safe, quiet neighborhood. Within 10 minutes to Cabell Huntington Hospital, Medical School, Marshall University, downtown Huntington, etc. The owners of the property live nearby to help with any questions guests may have during their stays. Provide washed and dried lines for every single stay. Guests have access to the entire house, which includes 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and living spaces on the main floor.

Our charming stone house offers an attic bedroom with central air plus window AC. Please note the following:

- The highest point of the ceiling allows individuals up to 5.7 feet in height to walk freely, while the ceiling near the door is approximately 5.0 feet high.

Fantastic Overnight

Our family stayed here for a night on our way further south for the holidays. We were a little concerned because of other reviews that it might be a bit cold overnight for the older generation, but that certainly was not the case. Space heaters were available and very much not needed! The furnace did it's job beautifully. The front porch was a really wonderful feature of the home and we enjoyed sitting out there in the evening. We also had dogs with us and the fenced in yard was amazing to have.

Very chilly

House is well kept and obvious care is taken with its decorations. The attic bedroom space is suitable for older children but is a headbanger for taller adults. Neighborhood is quiet but the roads to access it are windy and narrow. Our major issue during our stay was that during colder weather, the house got uncomfortably cold. Our first night the temperature was in the upper 30s/lower 40s and it was difficult to keep warm. The second night the temperature dropped into the 20s and the heating system couldn't keep up, even using a space heater supplied by the hosts. We were extremely cold the next morning -- it was too cold even to take morning showers. Lots of cold spots in the house and icy floor suggest not a lot of insulation. Hosts mentioned they would get the heating system serviced so maybe it will be better going forward, and could be fine in warmer weather.
