Take a walk along the historic Hythe Pier or hop on the miniature steam railway which runs from Hythe to Dungeness, a hit with both children and adults. Outdoor lovers can explore the Royal Military Canal, which winds through the town and provides a peaceful walking or cycling route. Nearby Romney Marsh and Dungeness are great for wildlife spotting and scenic views, and there are plenty of quiet lanes and footpaths to explore if you prefer to be off the beaten track.
