This Ignacio cabin contains 2 inviting bedrooms; downstairs bedroom w/queen bed & upstairs "bunk room" w/4 twin beds. Roomy living space to relax & watch tv (digital antenna channels & smart Blu-ray) or read in the sitting area. The well equipped country kitchen, complete w/stainless steel appliances & custom built cabinetry from locally milled wood, is perfect for cooking/baking, if you prefer to dine in. Guests enjoy a pleasant bathroom with an antique claw foot tub, great for relaxing. The space stays cozy year-round with heating and air conditioning. Whether you’re relaxing indoors or stepping outside, the serene atmosphere makes it easy to unwind. It’s a peaceful spot to escape and recharge. We look forward to hosting you at our place. Upon walking into this charming little cabin, you will encounter history. Once used as a grainery, this converted home contains a plethora of rustic barn wood, some of which still has writing from the original farmers who tallied their harvest on the walls. Outside the home is a porch, perfect for sitting and watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets as you sip a hot cup of coffee or an ice cold beverage. In the yard, you will find a propane fire pit and a tree swing for kids. This charming little cabin sits on 35 acres of farmland. Here you will see chickens, horses, cows, and our 2 dogs. At certain times of the year, you can witness hay production in action. The property is mostly open field but has the luxury of shade from willow trees that have been standing for over a century. The nights out here are peaceful, and you'll find big skies that boast a beautiful stargazing experience. With chickens and cattle on site, there is the opportunity to enjoy farm fresh eggs (seasonally, from spring to fall) and USDA certified grass fed beef from our farm at an additional cost. There are plenty of places to visit and things to do nearby. This home is situated almost smack between Durango and Pagosa Springs. It's about a 40 minute drive to Durango and 50 minutes to Pagosa which is famous for its natural hot springs. Mesa Verde National Park is a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike, which is about a 1.5 hr drive from "The Grainery". Closer attractions are Navajo Lake, Sky Ute Resort and Casino and Sun Ute Recreation Center, all of which are just 10 miles away. A 30 minute drive will take you to Chimney Rock National Monument. Bayfield, Colorado is 20 minutes away and just a bit further from there is Vallecito lake. Skiers will especially appreciate the fact that we have two ski resorts to choose from, Purgatory and Wolf Creek, both of which are under a 90 minute drive. If you prefer to snowshoe or cross country ski, Vallecito Nordic center is just over 30 miles from here. Sledding is also a fun activity to participate in there are several places nearby. There are many recreational activities in the area, and this is a nice central hub. All in all, this vacation rental is a great location for families, couples, hikers, hunters, fishers, boaters, skiers and anybody wanting to a place to stay while exploring Durango, Colorado and the surrounding areas! The entirety of the house is yours to enjoy, but it's next for to our residence. Please keep in mind that this also where our extended family stays when in town, and because of allergies of some family members, we are NOT able to allow pets. Outside areas are available to guests, and are shared with the tenants. *NOT 4:20 friendly -Extra charge for more than 6 guests -Coffee pods & teas provided. -Washer and dryer on site, but laundry soap and/or fabric softener is NOT provided. -We provide dish and hand soap, but not shampoo, conditioner, or body wash/soap. -Farm fresh products raised or made here on the farm are available for purchase. These products include: ~USDA beef, raised with grass fed and organic practices (steaks and ground beef) ~Free range eggs (Seasonal) ~Raw honey from our hives (Seasonal) ~Fresh baked sourdough bread (with advanced notice) ~Fresh Chocolate Chip Cookies (with advanced notice) We enjoy hosting people and look forward to meeting each of our guests. It's always nice getting the chance to visit with and learn things about guests, but we also understand the need for privacy. We reside on site and can be easily located throughout the property. We're always available for questions and any needs that my arise, or just to visit, should you have the desire to do so. We are excited to meet you!
