This cool hotel is less than 1/2 block from a beach, a short walk to beaches that are nicer to hang out. The room was very clean and had good AC. Bed was comfortable, pillows less than luxurious. Due to rain we spent time at the hotel as some of our planned activities weren't possible. The restaurant and rooftop bar has excellent service and tasty, nicely presented food. Special acknowledgement to chef and to Ismael for making our stay special, and to the manager for great communication!!

Be careful with your bill
The hotel is beautiful… very clean and nice… the only bad thing was being over charged at the restaurant and roof top bar..they double charged and tried to charge us for things that we didn’t order… I felt ripped off.. which was too bad because we would have eaten and drank there the whole time

First, it is on Holbox; which is AWFUL don't go. Flooding, sewage in the streets, smelly, etc. Beaches ugly and not swimmable due to seaweed, etc. No one helps you with your bags. Restaurants doesn't have more than half the items on the menu. Staff pretends they can't speak English. Items in room not working. You have to walk along a beach and then through muddy puddles knee high to get to a restaurant. Did I mention the smell!??

Es un muy bonito hotel , está a pocos pasos del mar , tiene un rooftop maravilloso con una vista de los atardeceres espectaculares , las habitaciones son cómodas y con todo lo necesario ! Lo único que si les pudiera decir es que dieran desayuno algo ligero , porque tienen Un restaurante pero no me gustaron los desayunos , pero de ahí todo mas que Perfecto, regresare sin pensarlo !

Costo vs beneficios ( no vale la pena ) mosquiteros rotos , sin papel d ebaño , sin servilletas , toallas rotas , camas llenas de arena , ni un dulce en el cuarto y las dos cocacolas que colocan las cobran aun si las repones , no tiene calentador el jacuzzi , no tienen servicio en el bar de arriba , muebles ya deteriorados , cobran un impuesto según ellos extra , en fin mala experiencia , muy mal sabor de boca

Buenas tardes Sr. Juan Pablo, entendemos su molestia ya que estuvo lluvioso todo el tiempo y esto le incomodó al no poder disfrutar al 100% su experiencia en Holbox, estamos al tanto. Sin embargo nos gustaría aclarar: el minibar de la habitación como en todos los hoteles tiene un costo extra, lo cual le incomodo, y le pedimos una disculpa por este tan común inconveniente. El rooftop no estuvo cerrado, simplemente los horarios son claros: 12:30 a 8:30, sin embargo, los cuáles no estan a requisición de los huéspedes, agradecemos su comprensión, son los horarios establecidos. De igual manera le ofrecimos para saciar su sed, disfrutar alguna bebida o snack en el restaurante y no fue de su agrado.El impuesto extra es un impuesto ecoambiental, DSA, cobrado en todo el caribe mexicano, solamente, en este caso, tenemos la amabilidad de desglosarlo de la cuenta y explicarle al huésped, sin embargo, se encuentra usualmente en su cuenta.Las limpiezas son detalladas una vez al día, sin embargo, usted y su familia disfrutaron la playa, como todos nuestros huéspedes, y si la limpieza ya se encuentra hecha, a su regreso de la playa, ustedes mismos llevaron arena, la cual, tuvo que esperar a ser limpiada hasta el día siguiente, una vez más agradecemos su comprensión.Las habitaciones no cuentan con servilletas es correcto, pero en cualquier momento que se terminase su papel higienico, puede solicitarlo en recepción y con gusto proveemos su habitación con más, sin ningún problema.Lamentamos no haya sido una experiencia increíble para usted.Fue un placer atenderle!

we visited Casa Astral with the family for one week and it‘s very nice. However, to be a 10/10 the hotel could work on some improvements. the rooms were very nice and super clean the hotel in general is really nicely designed the staff is super friendly and helpful even though the hotel doesn‘t have its own beach area, there are several beach clubs within 2-5 mins walking distance. (the hotel is literally 30 secs away from the beach) -wouldn‘t recommend coming here during hurricane season. there was heavier rain one day and we didn‘t have electricity or running water for several hours. (which can happen in Holbox and is normal :-)). However, we would have wished for a clear and more solution-oriented communication. e.g. they didn‘t know when the electricity would come back („we hope in the next hour but could also be tomorrow“) and didn‘t offer any solutions. In addition, please note that there are hotels with generators on the island :) -the pool on the roof top could be cleaned more often

We really do not know when the light was coming back, it depends on an external company which does not give Ilus notifications.We appreciate your understanding.

One staff member Alvin was standoffish, tv was not working he really didn't care or showed he was too busy, we had reserved a ocean view room and he said you didnt have any. We got another staff member to change our room. Carlos was excellent great staff member

Fantastic experience. Rooms were so clean and beautiful. 1 minute walk to the beach with views of the water from every balcony. A good restaurant downstairs and a small beach club next door with lots of other options. Took less than 15 minutes to walk downtown. Less if you ride a bike but it was raining a lot so walking the beach was often the best route. Super friendly staff. Only negative was our ac stopped working on the 2nd to last flight and it was pretty hard to sleep through that. Other than that, everything was perfect.

We had no power for one entire day, no running water, we had to sleep with the door open, our room was next to an access road there was traffic and noise the entire night, we lost power on Saturday so we couldn’t shower or eat at the hotel that night.. we were offered a common shower and common bathroom… one bathroom and shower for the entire hotel .. disgusting… people at the island said that this happens often at this hotel … I understand the staff has no control over this and they were nice and polite but the manager refuse to credit the night we couldn’t sleep shower or do anything for an entire day, not an even an apology from him … I would avoid this one place … when we checked out we were over charged when asked for a receipt for the drinks that supposedly we had they couldn’t provide any…

All our staff make everything to do your staying more comfortable.We are very sorry about this situation and we hope we have the chance to host you again!

Excelente servicio pero tiene muchos detalles
El lugar nuevo !! Su gente muy atenta y servicial , michelle en recepcion , alex en la barra de la alberca y el chef diego muy atentos al igual que todo el personal , si hicieron falta detalles desde el dia 1 , jabon y shampoo en el 2do baño , en el principal habia 3 botes y tardamos un rato en saber cual era cual .. El dia sabado nos quedamos sin luz desde en la tarde hasta las 5 am que volvio , era insoportable el calor , tambien nos quedamos sina gua en la noche .. no habia forma de refrescarte el calor era insoportable ... mi esposa prefirio intentar dormir un rato afuera tapada con una sabana por los mosquitos ... no tiene planta de luz , aun que los demas hoteles si .

Buen hotel, buena ubicación, 10-15 min al pueblo caminando por la playa o las callecitas de arena, muy agradable. El espacio común del rooftop está precioso, la vista es increíble y la piscina infinita. Cuartos cómodos , lo único serían las sábanas que son rasposas

El hotel es muy bonito, las habitaciones estupendas y tiene una terraza con vistas increíbles. El personal es muy amable, en especial Leo nos ayudó en todo momento. Está al lado de la playa pero no cuenta con tumbonas propias.

Clean comfortable room. Friendly & helpful front desk staff who could speak English. Also very friendly restaurant and bar staff. Only complaint was that the beach by the hotel had too much seaweed to swim in however there is a nice beach club restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel with a clean beach for swimming.
